EHS students charged in robbery
Suspects include homecoming queen, two-sport athletes
GREENVILLE — Three Easley High School students were arrested recently in connection with a Greenville armed robbery.

Circus coming to Pickens

PICKENS — Get ready — the circus is coming to town.
The Bargain Exchange Flea Market will host the Lewis & Clark Circus next week.
The circus will hold three shows, with one show on Monday evening and two shows on Tuesday.
The Monday show kicks off at 6 p.m., and the Tuesday shows will be at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Clark: Investments will protect county officers, residents

COUNTY — Sheriff Rick Clark knows that Pickens County’s new jail comes with a large tab, but he said the new detention

Meals on Wheels, Lions Club join forces
Pickens County Meals on Wheels and the Liberty Lions Club came together on Saturday to raise money and awareness with a pancake breakfast and diabetes walk in Liberty. The event began at 8 a.m. at the McKissick Center in Liberty.
Hagood Mill gets grant
Rep. Davey Hiott presented a check to Pickens County Council member Wes Hendricks on Saturday at the Hagood Mill Historic Site and Folklife Center for a grant that will help pay for the construction of a new Appalachian Culture Center at the site. Other county council members watched as Hiott presented the $130,000 check on behalf of the state of South Carolina’s Parks and Recreation Department.
Theatrical studio to open in Pickens
PICKENS — International mask and movement theatre artist Doug Berky has relocated to Pickens.

King breaks records
Keyshawn King, a junior from Liberty High School, took home two gold medals and set two meet records at the Foothills Track Classic at Byrnes High School on March 18. He won the triple jump with a jump of 46-3.75, which beat the previous record of 45-0. He also won the long jump with a jump of 22-2, which beat the previous record of 21-8. His jump of 22-2 was also a personal record.
