Old times there are not forgotten

The lot was across the road from the house. In the lot were the stable and the corn silos. The pasture was large and lay between a field of cotton and one of tobacco. Behind the pasture was a tobacco barn.

he National Day of Prayer is not just a vital part of America’s heritage, but is as relevant and critical today as it was at the first call by our Continental Congress in 1775.

Americans will answer the president’s call to pray during the 65th annual National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 5.

As our nation struggles with foreign and domestic threats, economic insecurity, cultural tensions and continual challenges to basic constitutional

Hope, Tate exchange wedding vows during sunrise ceremony

Scott led the wedding party along with several other hikers to Bald Knob starting at 3:30 a.m., arriving in time to watch the sun as it crested the mountains.

The nuptials began just before sunrise, officiated by Nath Briley of Pickens Presbyterian Church, with Scott Stegenga acting as witness and ringbearer. Doug’s daughter, Amanda Roeben of Amanda Roeben Artistry, acted as event photographer.
