Wave break in new stadium with win

Easley High was the final school of the four new county high schools to open its new football field, as the Green Wave hosted county rival Daniel Friday night to dedicate Green Wave Stadium. Opening night was a rousing success, as Easley overcame a 14-0 first-half deficit to win 21-14 over the Lions. Above, EHS students lead the team onto the field prior to kickoff Friday.

Board decides against selling land to Easley

EASLEY — After months of contoversy and disagreement over a number of issues, Monday night’s meeting of the Pickens County school board, the first since the start of classes on August 21, was relatively quiet.
During the period designated for executive session motions, board trustee Judy Edwards made a motion to sell the property at West End and Head Start, a total of four acres of land, to the city of Easley for $20,000 plus legal fees.

County kids improve ACT testing scores

COUNTY — Pickens County high school seniors excelled in their ACT testing in 2012, scoring above both state and national averages.

Tradition continues at Dacusville Farm Days
