PICKENS — Pickens County Council chairman Roy Costner asked staff last week to remove funding to join Sister City International from the county’s proposed fiscal year 2018-19 budget.

Costner made the request during a budget work session on May 14.

“I want us to stop talking about it,” Costner said.

The approximately $900 allocated to the membership is “a drop in the bucket” compared to the overall proposed budget, he said.
