• Conservatives to meet in Pickens

The next meeting of the Conservatives of the Upstate will be Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 7 p.m. at Pizza Inn in Pickens. This will be a planning meeting to discuss what action items the group wants to pursue in the next three months. The meeting will last an hour.

The group hopes all will consider attending and help with input as to what conservative issues are important.

• Pickens Lions Club invites locals to meet

The Pickens Lions Club has been serving the greater Pickens community since 1933. While its membership numbers have flexed over the years, one constant has remained — the club’s desire to help friends and neighbors in need.

The club is beginning a dynamic upswing in membership and is looking for movers and shakers with fresh ideas who want to make a difference in the community. The Pickens Lions meet the first and third Thursdays of each month at 7 p.m. at Pizza Inn in Pickens. The Clemson Sertoma Club invites all local residents to attend its meetings.

The club meets at noon the first and third Tuesdays of each month at Occasions at Wedgefield, located at 1551 Eighteen Mile Road in Central. New visitors are always welcome.
