• Pickens High Class of 1972 to reunite

The Pickens High School class of 1972 is planning a 45-year reunion. The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14, from 4-8 p.m. at Looper’s Barn, located at 101 Laurenwood Drive in Pickens.

Prime rib with accompaniments will be served for $21 per person. Entertainment will also be provided. Mail check or money order in the amount of $25 for the meal, rent and entertainment with Pay to the Order of to: Kathy Grant Gilstrap, 132 Triple D Drive, Pickens SC 29671.

There will be a Facebook page built for classmates to add helpful information and locate other classmates. Graduating is not a requirement to attend. Just being a part of the 1968-1972 group of students is validation.

• Day family reunion set for September 17

The seventh annual Day family reunion, including descendants of Bradwell Day and Elizabeth Cansler Day, will be held on Sunday, Sept. 17, at 1 p.m. at J.B. Day’s Riverbend Old Stock Car Racing Museum, located at 154 Floyd Circle in Easley. The reunion will be a chance to socialize with cousins and share family stories, photos and genealogy. All are asked to bring a picnic lunch or covered dish to share and a drink. Plates, napkins, cups and eating utensils will be provided.

Parents and grandparents are asked to help younger family members fill out a genealogy chart. There will be assistance available in filling out DAR membership papers. A group photo will be taken of descendants from the children of Bradwell and Elizabeth: Lucretia Day Ellison Cooper, John Tillman Day, Francis Marion Day, Elias Day, Martha Parentha Day Kelley, Andrew Jackson Hanson Day, Alonzo Elliot Day and Laura Clementine Day Couch. • Winchesters set to reunite one Sept. 17

The annual Winchester family reunion will be held at the Shady Grove Baptist Church fellowship building, located behind the church on Shady Grove Road, on Sunday, Sept. 17, beginning at 12:45 p.m.

A candlelight memorial service will be observed at 1 p.m. Table accessories will be provided. Each family is to bring a well-filled basket of food.

Any descendant who has lost a family member since the 2016 reunion is asked to contact Thaylia Oberstar.

• CAAAM to host Black Business Expo

On Sept. 9, the Clemson Area African American Museum (CAAAM) will host a Black Business Expo at Calhoun Bridge Center. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is free to the public.The expo will be an opportunity for Upstate African-American business owners and entrepreneurs to sell their products and services and showcase their artwork.

Light refreshments, hot dogs and fish sandwiches will also be available for sale. Calhoon Bridge Center is located at 214 Butler St. in Clemson.
