Gilmore Wallace, Jr.

Easley — Gilmore Wallace, Jr., 69, husband of Carmen Douglas Wallace, died Friday, July 25, 2014 at Cannon Memorial Hospital in Pickens.

Born in Darlington, to the late Gilmore Sr., and Juanita Green Wallace, “Gil” was a 1963 graduate of Rosenwald High School and went on to work for American Brass in Ansonia, Conn. He enjoyed fishing and listening to “oldies” music, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Markeith Douglas and his wife Linda of Lyman, Christopher Douglas and his fiancé Robin Lee of Pendleton, and Roderick Wallace of Pa.; two daughters, Kimberly Douglas of Easley and Chavon Douglas and her fiancé Joseph Payne of Easley; two brothers, Roy Wallace of Darlington and Richard Wallace of Waterbury, Conn.; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were 12 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.

Edwina “Winnie” Molloseau

Central — Edwina Lou “Winnie” Burch Molloseau, 68, of 501 Wood Street and wife of Alan D. Molloseau died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.

The family would like to acknowledge that she lived her life intentionally, never missed an opportunity to share Jesus’ love with anyone.  She was full of love, compassion and grace and she will be missed greatly.

She has left a legacy for everyone who knew her.

Born in Croswell, Mich., she was a daughter of the late Edwin Charles and Lulu Janet Grainger.  She was the Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Students at Southern Wesleyan University and along with her husband managed the Eagles Rest Bed and Breakfast on the campus of the university. Winnie was a long time member of Trinity Wesleyan Church where she taught Sunday School and was a frequent speaker for events for the Wesleyan Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are sons, Christopher Alan Molloseau of Central, Randall David (Melonie) Molloseau of Central and David Jeffery (Marcy) Molloseau of Fair Play; daughters, Ginger Lu (Joel) Seavey of Six Mile and Abigail Ann Molloseau of Central; sisters, Maureen Young and Ann Bricker of Croswell, Mich., Kaye Gohsman of Arizona, Judith Torres of Lexington, Mich. and Nancy Griffith of Belton; grandchildren, Ryan Molloseau, Brittany Molloseau, Christopher Molloseau, Ariana Foerster, Tiana Seavey, Nicole Molloseau, Treasure Molloseau, Brady Seavey, Maria Molloseau, Gabrielle Molloseau and Josie Seavey; and great-granddaughter, Jade Foerster; also many adopted family members such
as Paul and Nataliya Wysock and many others too numerous to mention.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased By a brother, Lawrence Burch; and a grandson, Nicholas Molloseau.

Funeral services were 12 p.m., Saturday at Trinity Wesleyan Church.

Burial followed in Memory Gardens.

Keith Bradford

Easley — Arnold Keith “Mutt” Bradford, age 44, of 101 Crest Court, husband of Amy Reeves Bradford, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Elbert County, Ga., Mr. Bradford was the son of Arnoldean and Joyce Phillips Bradford of Easley. He graduated from Easley High School in 1987, and he was the Purchasing and Office Manager for The Cline Company in Taylors, where he worked for 20 years.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Easley. As a member of Smithfield Country Club, Keith was an avid golfer.

He was also an avid cyclist, and he participated in the Ride for Life, and for many years, the MAC Ride. His hobbies included water and snow skiing.

Surviving in addition to his parents and his wife of the home are his daughter, Bailey Elizabeth Bradford, of the home; a sister, Robin Massingill Snelson, of Easley; two nephews, Van Massingill and Tyler Berger; a niece, Alicia Massingill; and his mother-in-law, Betty Folds Reeves.

Funeral services were 4 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church. Burial followed in Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley.

Gregg Murrell

Easley — William Gregg Murrell, 57, of 300 Frank Street, died on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at his residence.

Born in Greenville he was a son of the late Marion C. Murrell. He was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church.

Surviving are his mother, Alta Whitlock Murrell of the home; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services to honor Gregg’s life were 11 a.m. Saturday at Flat Rock Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

James Elisha Nix

Pickens — James Elisha Nix, 95, husband of the late Pauline Alexander Nix, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014.

Mr. Nix was born in Pickens County, a son of the late Claude Baker Nix and the late Clara Grogan Nix. He was retired from The Singer Company (Ryobi) in Pickens and he was a member of Keowee Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son, Jimmy Dean Nix (Jennie) of Pickens, grandchildren, Dale Nix and Tony Nix both of Greenville, great grandchildren, Jimmy Dale Nix, Jr. and Jessica Nix, and great-great grandchildren, Jimmy Dale Nix, III, and Armani Nix. Also surviving is a brother, Ray Nix (Sadie) of Pickens.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Nix was preceded in death by his twin sister, Janie Hughes, and Edith Few, Ethel Ellenburg, and Faye Jay.

The funeral services were 2:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1 at Keowee Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Everett Donald

“Don’ Steed, Jr.

Easley — Mr. Everett Donald “Don” Steed, Jr., 60, husband of Holly Marie Green Steed, died Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital-Downtown.
Born in Alliance, Ohio, a son of Josephine “Joy” Baylock Steed and the late Everett Donald Steed, Sr., Mr. Steed was employed with Danfoss and was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 41 years, are two sons, Jason Donald Steed (Michelle) of Easley, and John Allan Steed (Kim) of Central; two grandsons, Devin and Gage Steed; his step-father, Joseph Steed; a brother, David Steed of Ravenna, Ohio; and four sisters, Donna Kulon (Bob), Marilyn Mayle (Mike), Joyce Jones (Dave), and Marsha Thomas (Bob), all of Ravenna, Ohio.

In addition to his father, Mr. Steed was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn S. McElwain.

Funeral services were 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3 at Glenwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Lawson officiating. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Bill Woods

Marietta — William J. “Bill” Woods, 89, of 505 Cedar Road, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2014 at his home.

Born in Greenville County, a son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Pearl Tinsley Woods, Mr. Woods retired as a driver with Roadway Express after 30 years of service and was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church.

He was a veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Army and participated in the Battle of the Bulge and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

Mr. Woods was a life member of the Taylors Lodge 345 A.F.M.

Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Mary Ellen Williams Woods of the home; two sons, Roy C. Woods (Deborah) of Travelers Rest and James E. Woods (Theresa) of Marietta; four daughters, Wilma Howell (Jack) of Chesnee, Cindy Woods of Spartanburg, Terry Puleo of Greer and Billie Jo Whitfield of Easley; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Woods was predeceased by two brothers, David F. Woods, Wallace G. Woods and by a sister, Emilou Rich.

Funeral services were 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Cross Roads Baptist Church. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Lloyd “Mutt” SargenT

Liberty — Lloyd Leroy “Mutt” Sargent, 95, of 603 Anderson Drive, died on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.

Born in Liberty he was a son of the late David Seaborn and Leota Whitlock Sargent.

He retired from Woodside Mills and was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II having served in the Pacific Theatre. Mr. Sargent was a lifelong member of East Side Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Henry Gillespie Sunday School Class, and the Golden Gems.

Surviving are his wife of 75 years, Florence Davis Sargent of the home; two sons, Mike Sargent (Lu) of Liberty, and Tim Sargent of Georgetown, Texas; a brother, Carl “Tuffy” Sargent (Christine) of Liberty; four grandchildren, Derek Sargent of Liberty, Josh Sargent (LeAnne) of Wake Forest, N.C., Lisa Kunitz (Logan) of Austin, Texas, and Julie Arguello (Jader) of Nicaragua; four great grandchildren, Seth, Nathan, Caroline, and Isabella.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Sargent were 3 p.m. Sunday at East Side Baptist Church. Burial was at Liberty Memorial Gardens.

Ralph Holcombe

Easley — Joseph “Ralph” Holcombe, 86, of Adger Road, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Holcombe was owner of Holcombe Tree Service and a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Surviving are his wife, Sybil Waldrop Holcombe of the home; a son, Wayne Holcombe (Lavern); a daughter-in-law, Shirley Holcombe; two sisters; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Mr. Holcombe was predeceased by five brothers and by two sisters.

Graveside services were 3:30 p.m. Monday at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Pauline Keyser

Easley — Pauline Maybelle Tharp Keyser, 85, wife of the late Robert Keyser, died Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Countryside Village in Easley.

Born in Knoxville, Tenn., to the late Harvey and Thelma Carney Tharp, “Polly” worked hard her whole life as an owner and operator of a food and beverage establishment in Baltimore, Md. She had a passion for shopping and loved boating, dancing, yard work and being outdoors in general. To her family, she was known as the “Energizer Bunny” because she never stopped moving.

Surviving are two daughters, Sunny Burdo and Patty Hill; a step-son, Robbie Keyser; a step-daughter, Colleen Keyser; two brothers, Danny and Larry Tharp; a sister Cecelia Graves; three grandchildren, Adam Matherly, Michael Freeburger, and Teresa Berg; and a great grandchild, Rylee Mae Matherly.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family is at their respective residences.

Elsie Viola “Vi” Jurgenson

Easley — Mrs. Elsie Viola “Vi” Lawrence Jurgensen, 79, wife of the late Arthur Robert Jurgensen, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Born in Greenville County, a daughter of the late William Howard and Elsie Dora Lothridge Lawrence, Mrs Jurgensen was a homemaker.

Surviving are four sons, James Timothy Jurgensen, Thomas Julius Jurgensen, Eric Fronz Jurgensen, and Arthur Robert Jurgensen; three daughters, Dora Jurgensen Honeycutt, Louise Jurgensen O’Donnell, and Tammy Lisa Jurgensen Hugate; two sisters, Coralee Culpepper and Nellie Lawson; 26 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Jurgensen was predeceased by a son, William Ricky Jurgensen; a daughter, Deborah Anne Valquez; and a sister, Dorothy Louise Schrock.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Burial followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Steve Zonay

Liberty — Steven John Zonay, 73, of 110 Faye Street, died Sunday at Capstone Health & Rehab.

Born in Bethlehem, Pa., he was a son of the late Steven and Alice Goth Zonay. He served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Schumerich Bell Co. He was a railroad and model train enthusiast and was of the Lutheran faith.

Surviving are a brother, Dr. Francis Zonay of Evanston, Ill.; a niece, Amy Zonay and her daughter, Hadley Zonay both of Northampton, Pa.
