EASLEY — Tina Anderson Barton, 49, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Horry County, a daughter of Linda Faye Newby and the late James R. Anderson, Tina was assistant manager of Big Lots, Easley and of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are her boyfriend, Tab Bettis of Easley; two daughters, Latoshia Anderson (Michael Moore) of Six Mile, and Brianna Barton of Inman; two sisters, Sandy A. Price (Mark), and Kimberly Galloway (Harold), all of Easley; a brother, Rick Anderson (Leslie) of Chesnee; and three grandchildren, Anthony, Katelynn, and Brooklyn Moore.

Funeral services were held July 17, in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

JENNA JONES

PICKENS — Jenna Colette Jones, 14, of 116 Club Ridge Drive passed away Monday, July 13, 2015 in Six Mile, SC.

Born in Greenville she was a daughter of Kim Messer Jones-Fogarty and Mike Fogarty of the home, and the late Michael Christopher Jones. Jenna was an honor student at Pickens Middle School where she had just completed eighth grade. She loved the outdoors and her hobbies included horseback riding, volleyball, creative writing and listening to music.

Jenna was also a member of Five Point Church.

Surviving in addition to her mother are three sisters, Jordan Jones of the home, Taylor Jones of Charlotte, NC and Meagan Fogarty of Liberty; her grandparents, Eddie and Jackie Messer of Liberty and Mike and Judy Fogarty of Piedmont; her great grandparents, Jack and Ruth Waldrop of Liberty; several aunts and uncles, Cristy and Mark Flowers, Dr. William and Laura Messer and Mark and Melissa Fogarty all of Easley; and three cousins, Katie and Brady Messer and Ross Flowers all of Easley.

In addition to her father she was predeceased by her great grandmother, Lucille Stewart.

A celebration of Jenna’s life was held from July 17, at Liberty Mortuary.

Liberty Mortuary and Cremation Services are handling arrangements.

DANNY WARD

SIX MILE — Danny Ray Ward, Sr., 72, husband of Dare Baker Ward, went home to be with The Lord, Tuesday, July 14, 2015 following an accident.

Dan was born in Fort Mill, a son of the late Courtney R. and Ola Lowder Ward. He was a graduate of Fort Mill High School and served his country in The U. S. Navy where he served during the Vietnam War. He formerly served with The SC State Highway Patrol as a patrolman. Dan owned and operated Dan Ward House Movers. He was a hardworking man who loved God, his country and his family. His heart was always with his church, Amazing Grace Fellowship in Pickens and he would always go the extra mile to help anyone in need. He was a good man, well loved by his family and will be missed by all who loved him.

Dan is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dare Baker Ward and three children, Derhea W. Lesley and husband, Jody W. Lesley of Liberty, Jennifer W. Carroll and husband, Shawn E. Carroll of Westminster, and Danny Ray Ward, Jr. and wife Norma G. Ward of Six Mile. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Courtney and Clay Lesley of Liberty, Terri and Sebastian Ward, and Natalie Garica of Six Mile and Shawna Carroll of Westminster. Brothers include David R. Ward of Fort Mill and Bill Ward of Camden.

In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by brothers, Freeman L. Ward and Jimmy L. Ward.

Funeral services were held July 17, in the funeral home chapel, followed by Entombment at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens Mausoleum.

JOSEPH J. FUSCO SR.

EASLEY — Joseph John Fusco, 88, of Easley passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at his home.

Born in Waterbury, CT, he was the son of the late Michael and Madeleina Polletta Fusco.

Mr. Fusco was retired from Carby Manufacturing Co, Watertown, CT. He was a member of the former Northfield Congregational Church in CT and served honorably in the United States Army during WWII.

Surviving are his wife, Joan Hartle Fusco; children, Donna Cramer Edison and husband Steve, Deborah Barks and husband Howard, Joanne Sowinski and husband Marian, William Wilder Fusco Sr., and Joseph John Fusco, Jr. and wife Margrit; grandchildren, Bethany Barks McArdle, Rebecca Cramer, Nathan Cramer, Ashley Barks Kaso, Jonathan Sowinski, Kathryn Sowinski, William Wilder Fusco Jr., Matthew M. Fusco, Joseph John Fusco III, Thomas A. Fusco, David W. Fusco and Jane Ellen Fusco; great grandchildren, Elliot McArdle, Benjamin Cramer, Liam Kaso, Holden Kaso, Samantha Moreland,Olivia Sowinski, and Auston Sowinski; and a brother, Frank Fusco.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Joseph Michael Fusco; two sisters, Rose Clock and Angelina Fusco, and a brother, Michael Fusco.

Graveside services followed by military honors were held on July 11, in Northfield Cemetery in Litchfield, CT.

A Memorial Service was held on July 18, at Community Bible Church in Easley.

SANDRA G. DUNCAN

EASLEY — Sandra Gail Duncan, 63, of 102 Pebble Brook Drive, passed away Monday July 13, 2015 at her home.

Born in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Wade Carlton Duncan and Lillie Inez Roper Duncan.

Sandra was a Registered Nurse having worked for Greenville Hospital System for 20 years. She also worked for Baptist Easley Hospital and several nursing facilities. She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church. Her joys in life were her family and her cats.

Surviving are her sons, Joshua Dodgins of the home, and Justin Sharp of Montpelier, VA.

A service to celebrate Sandra’s life was held on July 16, in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with burial following in Robinson Memorial Gardens.

EVELYN BROWN

EASLEY — Mae Evelyn Brown, 88, of Easley, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Brookdale at Countryside Village.

Born in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Hovey and Ila Foster Brown.

Miss Brown was retired from Georgia Power after 27 years of dedicated service and was a member of Carmel Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are a brother, Tony Brown (Judy) of Easley; two sisters, Tommye Bice (Gerald) and Jessie Ann Knight both of Easley; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, Ford, Foster, Lewis and Buck Brown, and two sisters, Carolyn Fowler and Mildred Brown.

Graveside services were held on July 18, in Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens in Pickens.

LOWELL D. THOMAS

EASLEY — Lowell Dean Thomas, 54, of Easley, husband of the late Deborah “Debo” Ann Thomas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday July 8, 2015.

Born February 17, 1961 in Charlotte, North Carolina, he was the son of the late James Edmund Thomas, Sr. and Lula Mae Broome Thomas.

Mr. Thomas was member of Corinth Baptist Church in Easley.

Graveside services were held on July 10 at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery, 515 E. Church Rd. Easley, SC 29642.

Pallbearers were Tim Mode, Jimmy Mode, Charles Hodge, Daryl Rampey, Alex Hodge, Bradley Stewart, Zachary Stewart and Zachary Mode. Honorary pallbearers will be Darren Stewart, Tony Spoon and James Mode.

BRIAN J. MCNEELY

EASLEY — Mr. Brian Jackson McNeely, 55, husband of Debra “Debbie” Hill McNeely, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, July 14, 2015.

Born in Greenville County, a son of Willie Jackson and Francis Jeanette Anderson McNeely, Mr. McNeely was the owner and operator of McNeely Radiator Repair and a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church where he belonged to the Homemaker’s Sunday School Class and the Wednesday morning prayer group.

Brian was a prayer warrior and posted this scripture the morning he left his earthly home and saw his Lord and Savior; “Since Calvary, the Ressurection, and the coming of the Holy Spirit, God has ushered in “last days” (Heb. 1:1-2). And He is fulfilling His Hidden purposes in this world. As Rev. 22:10 says, “The time is at hand”!! Are you ready to see JESUS!! It could be today!! Love and praying for all!!”

Surviving, in addition to his wife and parents, are two sons, Drew Brittain (McKenzie), and Tyler Garrett, all of Greenville; two daughters, Annie McNeely of Easley, and Crystal Garrett Thornburg (Brian) of Charlotte, NC; a brother, Steve McNeely (Judy) of Easley; two sisters, Jami Crisman (Rob) of Duncan, and Beth Bray (Tom) of Dacusville; one grandson, Brody Thornburg; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Barbara Hill.

Funeral services were held July 19, at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. David Gallamore officiating with burial following in the church cemetery.

SHELLA CAGLE

LIBERTY — Shella Ruth Herrin Cagle, 74, of 131 Meadow View lane, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2015. Born in Taylorsville, Georgia she was the widow of Elbert F. Cagle, Jr. and a daughter of the late Golley and Beatrice Wilbanks Herrin.

She retired from Baptist Easley Hospital where she worked as a CNA serving the sick for 30 years. She enjoyed cooking especially Sunday dinners for her family.

Mrs. Cagle attended Fellowship Community Church prior to her illness and was formerly a member of Reynolds Chapel Baptist Church in Taylorsville, GA.

Surviving are two daughters, Vicki Andrews (Dean), and Regina Clardy (Harrison) all of Liberty; a son, Tony Cagle (Sandra) of Six Mile; six grandchildren, Kelsey, Corey, Alex, Jacob, Brandon, and Ben; three great granddaughters.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Herrin and two sisters, Lillie Mae Smith and Velma Bagley.

Memorial services to honor the life of Mrs. Cagle were held July 19, in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel.

ROY D. PORTER

CENTRAL — Roy Donald Porter, 66, of Central, husband of Vickie Teat Porter, died Saturday, July 18, 2015 at his home.

 Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Paul and Clara Earle Porter.  Roy was a graduate of Daniel High School and a brick mason.  He retired from Industry Services in Six Mile.

 Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Frank McMillan of Central, Scooter (Ashley) Porter of Liberty and Zebulon (Danielle) McMillan of Greenville; four daughters, Cindy M. (Wes) Franks of Six Mile, Leigh McMillan of Honea Path, Leigh Richey of Clemson and Polly (Marty) Gossett of Six Mile; brother, Charles Porter of Central; 21 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren.

 In addition to his parents, Roy was predeceased by a son, Freddie McMillan; a grandson, Shaun Vaughn Franks; and a brother, Howard Porter.

Graveside services were held July 20, in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

JOHNNY ROSS

WILLIAMSTON — John Quincy “Johnny” Ross, 74, of Williamston, formerly of Easley went home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday July 19, 2015.

Born in Sumter, he was the son of the late John Quincy Ross, Jr. and Dorothy Jackson Ross.

Johnny was an expert technician with Marietta Quilt and Sew. He was an active member and usher at Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Easley. He was a devoted husband, who loved his family dearly.

Surviving are his wife of 13 years, Diane Dover Ross; children, Jay Ross of Sumter, Gene Brock of Fair Play, Tim Brock (Kathy) of Easley and Dottie Landry of Columbia; grandchildren, Nick Landry, John Ross, Victoria Ross, Zachary Brock, Josh Landry, Sarah Brock and Haley Brock; a great granddaughter; and brothers, Phil Ross (Judy) of Sumter, Tommy Ross of Columbia and Neil Ross (Joyce) of Sumter.

In addition to his parents, Johnny was predeceased by a grandson Timothy Ryne Brock.

A service to celebrate Johnny’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Brushy Creek Baptist Church with a visitation immediately following the service.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Brushy Creek Baptist Church in memory of Johnny. The family will be at the home.

ZACK PACE

LEXINGTON — Zacchary Lyle “Zack” Pace, 45, husband of Heather Dunlap Pace died Saturday, July 18, 2015.

Zack was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend, and teacher.

Zack was born in Anderson, a son of Jacqueline McCollum Pace and the late Terry Allen Pace. He was a graduate of D. W. Daniel High School Class of 1987, attended Furman University and graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education from The University of South Carolina in 1995. He was a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.

Zack taught at Pelion High School and previously served as band director of both White Knoll High School and Midland Valley High School. Zack started the band program at White Knoll. Under his direction, the band went on to win many accolades for their performances. As a Revolutionary War re-enactor, he served as President of the 2nd South Carolina Continental Regiment.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Heather Pace of the home, a son, Robert Terry Pace and a daughter, Emily Caroline Pace, his mother, Jacqueline M. Pace of Clemson, brothers; Jonathon Pace of Clemson, and Daniel Pace (Rachel) of Greer, and a sister, Anna Westbrook (B. J.) of Easley. A memorial service for family and friends was held July 22, at Red Bank United Methodist Church in Lexington. A gathering of friends will be held at a later date.

EDNAMAY KOKAY

SENECA — Edna May Cecilia Peters Kokay, 79, of 251 Circle K Drive, passed away on Wednesday at the Cottingham Hospice House. Born in Bay City, Michigan she was the widow of Alex Kokay, Sr.

She retired from the School District of Oconee County where she worked in food service for many years.

Surviving are 3 sons, Kenneth Kokay of Seneca, Russell Kokay of Westminster and Gary Kokay of Six Mile; also surviving are nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Kokay.

Graveside services to honor the life of Mrs. Kokay were July 17, at Oconee Memorial Park.
