PICKENS — Dr. Daniel Dahlhausen received AnMed Health’s 2015 Clinical Teacher of the Year Award on April 10.

Presented by MUSC AHEC Assistant Professor Dr. Amanda Davis, the award was voted on by the current class of third year VCOM Carolina medical students rotating through clinicals at AnMed Health.

This year, part of the rotation included Cannon Family Practice, located at Cannon Memorial Hospital.

After spending four weeks with Dahlhausen, the selection for the physician that students felt exemplified excellence in teaching was simple.

One student said, “I enjoyed the drive to Cannon every day, just so I had a chance to meet with him. We felt Dr. Dahlhausen treated us with respect and as equals.”

Upon receipt of the award, Dahlhausen thanked the staff and other attending physicians.

“This was a team effort — the staff at Cannon and other attending physicians earned this award along with me,” he said. “Thank you for this honor.”
