Field joined as junior member and she was a fourth-generation member of the Wizard of Tamassee Chapter. Her great-grandmother, Martha Bowen Nimmons, was a charter member of the chapter. Field is descended from several founding families of Pickens County, including Anderson, Anthony, Bowen, Cantrell, Easley, Field, Griffin and Nimmons.

Dr. Field’s daughters, Dr. Rooksie Noorai of Central and Miss Mari Noorai, are both fifth-generation members of the DAR and joined as junior members. Rooksie Noorai is also a member of the Wizard of Tamassee Chapter and State Vice Chair for Junior American Citizens Committee.

Ellen Zaki and Pat Myers were the hostesses, providing a golden anniversary party with decorations that included newspaper and magazine advertisements from 1965. After presenting a certificate signed by President General Lynn Forney Young and State Regent Dot Ricks Lind, Chapter Regent Peg Stutsman toasted Field, and the chapter members signed a card marking the special occasion. Jane Patterson Satterfield, fellow member of the Wizard of Tamassee Chapter, will also be celebrating her 50th year of membership in DAR later this year. Her mother, the late Mrs. Bowen Nimmons, was Chapter Regent for many years.
