UPSTATE — The World of Energy in Seneca brought out hundreds of children and adults to celebrate the holidays.

The education center’s second annual Festival of Trees is currently on display with more than 20 decorated trees for the public to enjoy. In conjunction with this display, nearly 300 families lined up to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus recently, while an outstanding crowd came out for Super Tuesday to hear the sounds of Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Shawn Lane.

The Festival of Trees will remain on display through Jan. 3. Members of the community are encouraged to come out and view the trees and vote on their favorite tree.

The tree with the most votes will receive a $1,000 grant to donate to their charity of choice. Trees are on display Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. For more information, visit www.duke-energy.com\worldofenergy or call (864) 873-4600.
