PHS Band 4th in State    

The PIckens High School band competed at Batesburg-Leesville High School in Columbia for State Championships on Saturday, Oct. 24, and placed fourth out of 19 bands in the competition. The finish was the was the highest in school history. In other recent events the PHS Band competed at the Red Devil Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 11, winning Best colorguard, best percussion, the Cliff Green memorial colorguard award, and their AAAA division and was awarded Grand Champion out of 11 bands. On Saturday, Oct. 18, the band competed at J.F. Byrnes High School at Upperstate AAA championship and was awarded second place out of 22 bands that were competing.
