Seneca shuts out Blue Flame

PICKENS — Beating the Pickens Blue Flame at their own game, the Seneca Bobcats coasted to victory on Friday night, outgaining the Blue Flame by 51 yards on the ground in a lopsided 38-0 win at Bill Isaacs Field in Pickens.

Firing on all cylinders after a disheartening loss to Easley the previous week, the Bobcats were efficient on both sides of the ball, while Pickens, which was coming off of a bye week, was not nearly as efficient, suffering from three turnovers on the night.

“Give Seneca credit,” Pickens head coach Chad Smith said after the game. “They’re really athletic. They’re a good football team. But we didn’t play disciplined football tonight. We had two fantastic weeks of practice leading up to this, but it didn’t show tonight.”
