WZVZ-LP LOGO -2- 2015The Battle of Central SC Committee has recently received its license to operate a low-power FM station in the Six Mile area.

The station’s transmitter is located atop Six Mile Mountain. The studio and office is located at 2552 Norris Highway in Six Mile. The station reaches a radius of 10-15 miles around the transmitter and can be picked up in the Pickens, Norris, Liberty and Central areas, as well as on Lake Keowee.

The station is licensed as an educational, non-profit radio station.

“We expect to carry educational programs, emphasizing Civil War and Revolutionary War history,” chief engineer Rich Tillotson said. “Easy listening music will air during times that educational programs are not available.”

The station can be found online at WZVZFM.com and reached at wzvz973@gmail.com or (864)643-0458. WZVZ encourages everyone to take a moment to listen and give feedback to the station’s programming and offer suggestions about things they would like to hear on the air.
