Veterans Day celebration held at Pickens Senior Center

On Nov. 12, the Pickens Senior Center honored local veterans for their years of service to our country. The event was held at the Hagood Center. The program of honor began with the presentation of the flag followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem. A Veterans Table and Boots, Rifle and Helmet were on display to remind attendees of those who have fought for our country, but are listed as prisoners of war or are no longer with us. A number of patriotic songs were sung prior to Charlie Tapp’s presentation, “Recognition of Veterans.” Tapp invited veterans to share any comments they wished, prior to the retirement of the flag and a closing prayer.
