Hurricanes blow through Easley in rain-delayed game

PIEDMONT — In high school football, the terrible thing about youth and inexperience is the possibility of enduring one-sided losses.

The great thing about youth, inexperience and one-sided losses is plenty of opportunities to learn from mistakes and grow.

The Easley Green Wave gained a season’s worth of experience in Saturday morning’s 64-3 defeat at the hands of nearby rival Wren. Friday night’s strong line of thunderstorms and torrential rain forced the postponement of the intense rivalry’s 2019 edition, with the teams abandoning hope after an altered 8:30 p.m. start and agreeing to meet again for an 11 a.m. Saturday kickoff.
