Property buffer debate

It’s been a while since I wrote a letter to a local paper. The proposed Lake Keowee and Lake Jocassee Overlay District (Ordinance No. 684) has come across my radar, leaving me very concerned about my property and my house.

A proposed 100-foot vegetative buffer, in conjunction with a 100-foot building setback, is double Pickens County’s existing 50-foot buffer. That setback is four times the 25-foot setback in our neighboring Oconee County. The updated talk is that they are back
