CALEB OWENS

LIBERTY — It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Samuel Caleb Owens on Aug. 15, 2026.

Born on May 20, 1974, in Greenville, he was a dedicated father, a loving son, a supportive brother a motorcycle enthusiast. He grew up in Liberty and was a 1993 graduate of Liberty High School. He later furthered his education in megatronics at Greenville Technical College.

Caleb spent many years working at Shaw Industries in Central before transitioning to First Quality in Anderson, where he worked the past decade, and most recently served as an operations maintenance coordinator. His work ethic and commitment were admired by colleagues and friends alike. Outside of work, Caleb’s true joy came from the adventures he shared with his family. He cherished every moment spent exploring new places, whether alone or with loved ones. Most importantly, Caleb cared for his family above all things. He was devoted to his parents and children and spent his life in service to both.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved children, Emily Corbin (Tim), Caleb Owens, Carlie Tillotson (Kendall) and Triston Owens. He will also be deeply missed by his parents, Jimmy and Margaret Owens, as well as his siblings, Jennie Roper, Lamar Owens (Sheila), Dallas Owens and April Abercrombie (Donnie). He is also survived by his precious grandchildren, Molly, Augustus, KayliePage, Sophie, Knox, Talulah and Margaret.

Funeral services to honor Caleb’s life were conducted on Aug. 21 in the Liberty Mortuary chapel. Burial was private.

DORIS ROSS

PICKENS — It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doris Evelyn Ross, who left us peacefully on Aug. 21, 2026, at Lila Doyle Post-Acute in Seneca.

Born on Aug. 6, 1939, in Norris, she was the widow of McIllwain “Wayne” Ross and a daughter of the late Alvin Thomas “AT” Mann and Lela Pilgrim Mann. She led a life filled with love, creativity and connection, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She cherished her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, delighting in every moment spent with them. Family gatherings were her joy, and her infectious laughter and warm spirit will be deeply missed.

In her career in retail customer service, Doris brought her warm demeanor and unwavering kindness to everyone she encountered. She had a special talent for making others feel valued and appreciated. Outside of work, Doris loved indulging in her passions for crafts, particularly her fondness for dolls and clowns, which reflected her playful spirit and creativity.

Surviving are her daughter, Cindy Davis (Danny); her daughter-in-law, Sandra Lesley; two sisters, Aliene Grant (Jerry) and Linda Kay Bethea (Rick); one brother, James Mann (Ann); two grandchildren, Jason Davis (Metha) and Joshua Davis (Shawna); and four great-grandchildren, Truby, Tessa, Alexia and Braydn Davis.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ross was preceded in death by her son, Steven Anthony Lesley, two sisters and two brothers.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Golden Creek Baptist Church cemetery. No formal visitation will be held.

ART BARRON ‘ARCHIE’ NIX

SUNSET — Art Barron “Archie” Nix, 63, loving partner of 32 years to Tresia Hendricks, passed away on Monday, Aug. 17, 2026, at his home.

Born on Nov. 11, 1962, in Pickens County, Archie was the beloved son of Art G. Nix and Avanelle Nix.

Archie had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for his dry wit and sarcastic personality, often bringing laughter to those around him. He enjoyed listening to country music, playing cards, shooting pool, shooting guns and spending time at the shooting range. Beneath his humor and easygoing nature was a heart of gold and a genuine love for others. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his great-grandchildren, who held a special place in his heart and brought him countless moments of happiness.

Mr. Nix is survived by his beloved companion, Tresia Hendricks of Pickens; children, Shirley Jenkins (Jimmy) of Salem and Johnny Jenkins (Carl) of Pickens; grandchildren, August Roper (John) of Pickens, Amanda Johnson (Matt) of Sunset, David Roper of Sunset, Sammy Nix (Young) of Chester, Va., Debbie Nix of Elkton, Md., and Eddie Nix (Robin) of Richmond, Va.; great-grandchildren, Michael, Cameron, Annabelle and Kalija; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Archie was predeceased by his parents, Art and Avanelle Nix.

A gathering of family and friends was held on Aug. 24 in the chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home.

TONY ‘BIG T’ RIDDLE

PICKENS — Tony “Big T” Riddle, 54, loving husband of 27 years to Kristi Riddle, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, at Greenville Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on Jan. 8, 1972, in Pickens County, Tony was the beloved son of Vickie Riddle Gonzalez and the late Don Riddle. Tony had a deep love for the outdoors and was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed fishing. He found great peace and enjoyment spending time in nature and making memories along the way.

In addition to his wife and mother, Tony is survived by his sons, Chris Riddle (Brandi) of Ware Shoals and Logan Riddle of Pickens; grandchildren, Riley Riddle and Rowan Riddle; sister, Crystal Trejo; and brother, Michael Hubkirk (Michelle).

Mr. Riddle was predeceased by his father, Donald Riddle.

A memorial service to honor Tony’s life will be announced at a later date.

SANDRA GAIL ‘SAM’ RIGGINS HOWARD

CENTRAL — Sandra Gail “Sam” Riggins Howard, 70, of Central, passed away on Aug. 18, 2026, at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, after a courageous battle with cancer. She faced her illness with grace, choosing to spend her remaining time in comfort, surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Greenville, on Feb. 22, 1956, Sandra was the daughter of Shelba Jean Smith Riggins and the late Richard Andrew Riggins. She graduated from Daniel High School and earned her B.S. in business administration from Southern Wesleyan University. Sam retired from Champion Aerospace in Liberty following a successful career as a master planner and scheduler.

Sandra loved her family and friends deeply. She delighted in nature, spending hours in her greenhouse propagating orchids and night-blooming flowers. She also enjoyed cooking, collecting antiques, sewing and finding a good thrift-store bargain.

Above all, Sandra loved her daughter fiercely. Stephanie remembers that at the end of nearly every visit, Sandra would say, “There was something I was gonna tell you, but I can’t remember what it was.” Stephanie often joked about having that carved into her tombstone. She was the best Momma, and one day, when those she loved join her again, Sandra will finally remember all those things she wanted to say.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Howard (Mark Askinas); her mother, Shelba Riggins; sisters, Renee Thrift (Robert), Connie Martin (Larry) and Jennifer Williams; sister-in-law, Karen Riggins; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Stephen “Steve” Howard; brother, Andy Riggins; and sister, Kathy Smith.

A graveside service was held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Aug. 20.

BRENDA ANN REVOLINSKY

CENTRAL — Brenda Ann Revolinsky, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter and friend, passed away peacefully on Aug. 19, 2026, at the age of 72.

Brenda was born on Dec. 6, 1953, in Oconee County, to Oliver and Roberta Medlin. The youngest of 11 children, she will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and the special place she held in the lives of those who knew her. From an early age, Brenda was known for her caring eyes, warm smile and ability to make others feel instantly at ease. She had a quiet and gentle nature that brought sincere trustworthiness.

Brenda was previously married to Tim Powell and later to Mike Revolinsky. Although both marriages ended in divorce, she remained devoted to the family she built and cherished the relationships that continued throughout her life.

She was a loving mother to Eric Powell (Kelli) and Shannon Balawi (Abdallah). Her greatest joy was being a grandmother to Hanan, Adam, Mismeh, Maleah, Gabriel, Cameryn and Jeremy. Her grandchildren brought her immense happiness, and the memories they shared with her will remain with them always. Brenda was known for her protectiveness of her grandchildren. She enjoyed baking her famous cookies, making memory quilts and cheering on her kids and grandkids at their sporting events. She made each of them feel uniquely loved and important.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband, Tim Powell, and her beloved first grandchild, Abraham Balawi. She never fully recovered from the loss of Abe, who held a very special place in her heart.

Brenda will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Her life and memory will continue through the family she loved so dearly and the many lives she touched along the way. She will be remembered for her generosity, her quiet strength and the way she always showed up for her loved ones — often putting their needs before her own without hesitation.

May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she gave so freely to others.

Forever loved. Forever remembered.

RANDY KEITH ELLER

SENECA — It is with a mix of sorrow and celebration that we announce the passing of Randy Keith Eller, who left this world peacefully on Aug. 19, 2026, at the age of 59.

Born on Dec. 11, 1966, in Seneca, Randy was a beloved son, brother, friend and outdoor enthusiast who had a passion for life.

Randy was a free spirit who loved the great outdoors. Whether it was deer hunting, camping under the stars or casting a line for a big catch, he found joy in nature’s beauty. Though he preferred to keep to himself, he had a great sense of fun, especially when it came to playing pool or making a deal at the Pickens Flea Market.

Randy was a member of the Baptist faith, which provided him with strength and solace throughout his life. He is survived by his loving brother, Russell Eller, and his sister, Rose Acosta, both of whom will carry his memory forward in their hearts. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews who were fond of him.

Randy was predeceased by both of his parents, Jack Russell and Mary Francis Hunter Eller; a sister, Rebecca Gilstrap; and two brothers, Rodney and Ricky Eller.

No services are planned at this time. In the spirit of Randy, we encourage everyone to find joy in nature, share a laugh with friends and perhaps even engage in a game of pool in his honor. He will be missed but never forgotten!

THOMA SUE STEWART

CENTRAL — Our beloved Thoma Sue Stewart passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, at the age of 85.

Born in Little Canada, N.C., she was the widow of Milford Jenkins Stewart Sr. and a daughter of the late Rev. Lewy Broom and Mattie Ammons Broom.

She was a member of Mile Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by her three sons, Mickey Stewart (Angel) of Charleston, Ronald Stewart (Tonyia) of Central and Richie Stewart of Central; her sisters, Francis Parris of Boiling Springs,  Bonnie Gibson (Ronnie) of Rock Hill and Linda Johnson of Frederick, Md.; and six grandchildren, Jessica Stokes, Dylan Stewart (Alyssa), Falcon Stewart, Trinity Stewart, Georgia May (Max) and Ella Stewart. Also surviving are four beloved great-grandchildren Lukas, Charlie Jane, Mazy and Bryson.

Kindness and grace radiated from the woman most people will remember as “Sue” or “Mammaw.” She was a godly woman who could be found reading her bible daily. She embodied patience and was often called a saint by those who knew her (and Mick) best. She was quiet, strong and hardworking. She went back to school and received her GED as a grandmother — starring in a story by the local newspaper! Her three sons will tell you she had great aim with a hairbrush, but her great-grandchildren will only tell you about lemon cookies and her loving smile. Her cooking was magical (even if Mick gave her grief for oversalting dishes once or twice) and the comfort she provided just by being nearby cannot be recreated.

Her grandkids fondly remember making biscuits with her and snapping green beans on the porch for dinner. She was calm and kind, sweet and steady. Her home was always warm and inviting, unless Mick had the woodstove/fireplace going, then it was just plain hot. Knowing Sue was a gift, and being a part of the family that she created is a blessing. Her gentle spirit and kind, soft voice will be missed endlessly but we are forever grateful to have known and loved Thoma Sue Stewart.

Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Stewart will be conducted at 2 p.m. Aug. 26 at Mile Creek Baptist Church.

She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of the church.
