County officials talk gun control

PICKENS — Local residents and Pickens County Council members spoke out Monday against red flag laws, which they say violate the Second Amendment of the Constitution.

A red flag law is a gun control law that permits police or relatives to petition a state court to order the temporary confiscation of firearms from a person who allegedly presents a danger to others.

Resident Grayson Grant said red flag laws “are extremely unconstitutional.”

He said the laws violate the First and Second Amendments.
