SIX MILE — Betty Jo Willimon Seaborn, 81, of Holliday Road, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2015.

Born in Six Mile, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Eunice Stone Willimon.

Mrs. Seaborn was retired from the School District of Pickens County, where she served as lunchroom cook at R.C. Edwards Middle School and Six Mile Elementary. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Wesleyan Church, the Ladies Sunday School Class and was a Sunday School teacher. She also taught the Wednesday services at Heartland HealthCare (Harvey’s Nursing Home) in Six Mile.

Surviving is her husband of 62 years, Joseph W. Seaborn of the home; two sons, the Reverend Joseph William Seaborn, Jr. (Mary) of Marion, Ind.; and the Reverend Dan Seaborn (Jane) of Zeeland, Mich.; grandchildren, Mary Joy Seaborn, Joseph Seaborn, III (Heidi), Jerolyn Seaborn, Alan Seaborn (Annaliese), Joshua Seaborn (Amy), Cristina Little (Jonathan), and Anna Elizabeth Seaborn; and a great grandson, Jackson Seaborn.

Mrs. Seaborn was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Mildred Hughes McEntire, and a brother, Hugh Willimon.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Jan. 23, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home. Burial followed in Mt. Olivet Wesleyan Church Cemetery.

CENTRAL — James Henry Hill, 90, of 330 Vickery Drive died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, at Oconee Memorial Hospital.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late William David and Hattie Ann Gambrell Hill. James was a retired employee of Clemson University and was a member of Cannon Memorial Baptist Church. He was a Naval Veteran of WWII.

Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Helen Alice Rampey Hill of the home; son, Ronnie F. Hill (Shelby Jean) of Anderson; brother, Jerry Hill (Brenda) of Houston, Texas; sisters, Thelma Hopper (Ernest) of Anderson and Alberta George of Naples, Fla.; grandchildren, Benjamin Hill (Monica), Tracy Hill, Lisa Hill Benjamin, Crissy Hill Labor, Jerry Brown, J. T. Brown, Michael Yon and Jeremy Owens; great-grandchildren, Max Labor, Dorian Labor and Jackson Diesel Hill; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son Glenn Hill; brother, Albert Hill; sisters, Lou Richbourg and Ruth Sanders; and grandson, Greg Hill.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home. Burial followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Central.

BILLIE JO EDDINGS CHAPPELL

PICKENS — Billie Jo Eddings Chappell, 83, wife of the late Berlen M. Chappell, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015. Mrs. Chappell was born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Bertha Stephens Eddings and Joseph Enoch Eddings.

Mrs. Chappell was retired from Cornell Dubilier and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include four daughters; Susan Cash of Pickens; Lynn Morris of Pickens; Deborah Yates (David) of Pickens; JoAnn Dryman (Steve) of Raleigh, N.C.; four sons; Michael Chappell (Stephanie) of Weaverville, N.C.; Randy Chappell of Six Mile; David Chappell (Lisa) of Lillington, N.C.; Steve Chappell (Shana) of Pickens; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

CHARLES H. MOORE

CENTRAL — Charles Horace Moore, 86, husband of Imogene Nations Moore, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015.

Mr. Moore was born in Pickens County, a son of the late Duard Leland and Lizzie Rosa Madden Moore. He was retired from the Clemson Police Department and the U.S. Army and had also served the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Moore was a Mason, Scottish rite and Hejaz Shriner.

Surviving in addition to his wife are sons, Charles Ray (Annie) Moore of Dacusville; James David (Wenda) Moore of Easley; Franklin Ralph (Barbara) Moore and William Roger (Michele Johnsen) Moore, both of Central; a daughter Sharon Jean (Hubert) Hudson of Pickens; sisters, Gladys Smith of Six Mile, and Elizabeth Bergt of Las Vega, Nev.; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Moore was preceded in death by a brother, Leland Claudius Moore.

Graveside services with military rites were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at Lawrence Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Kenneth C. Holliday

Pickens — Kenneth Cecil Holliday, 82, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, at the Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca.

Mr. Holliday was born on March 9, 1932, in Pickens County. He was the son of the late J.D. and Madga Moneta Kennemore Holliday. He worked for Alice Manufacturing for around 50 years before he retired as a supervisor. He was a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War, where he served from 1951-1955. He was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church and also a member of Keowee Masonic Lodge No. 79 AFM.

Mr. Holliday is survived by his wife of 51 years, Chloe Fay Chastain Holliday; a daughter, Vonda Fay Holliday of the home; two brothers, the Rev. Charles Holliday (Estella) and Ray Holliday (Brenda), both of Easley; a sister, Derolyn Crowe of Easley, and a sister-in-law, Lucille Holliday of Easley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Holliday was predeceased by a brother, Maurice Holliday.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Jan. 24, at 3 p.m. at Holly Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gerald Martin, the Rev. Charles Holliday and the Rev. Tommy Owen officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

CHRISTINE WEBB SHEPARD

MARIETTA — Christine Webb Shepard, 70, wife of the Rev. Glenn Shepard, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Shepard was born in Waynesville, N.C., a daughter of the late Ethel Ree Haney Webb and Abe Candler Webb.

Mrs. Shepard was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and a devoted Christian mother.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years; one daughter, Syrena Shepard Moon (Robert) of Lexington; one son, Marvin Shepard (Angie) of Lyman; two grandchildren, Corie Caldwell (Andrew) and Preslee Hilton (John); two great-grandchildren, Abbi and Hayden, all of Greer. Also, special and helpful friends, Steve and Stacy Gouge of Marietta.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. John Parker officiating.

Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

CENTRAL — Helen Rampey Hill, 88, of 330 Vickery Drive, went to her heavenly home and to be with James, her loving husband of 70 years, on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015 at the Oconee Memorial Hospital.

Born in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Ferrell and Alo Barrett Rampey. She was a retired textile employee and was a member of Cannon Memorial Baptist Church.

Surviving are her son, Ronnie F. Hill (Jenni) of Anderson; daughter-in-law, Melissa Hill of Anderson; brother, Edwin Rampey of Anderson; grandchildren, Benjamin Hill (Monica), Tracy Hill, Lisa Hill Benjamin, Crissy Hill Labor, Jerry Brown, J.T. Brown, Michael Yon and Jeremy Owens; great-grandchildren, Max Labor, Dorian Labor and Jaxson Diesel Hill; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Glenn Hill; brothers, Earl Rampey and Franklin Rampey; an infant sister, Earlene Rampey; and a grandson, Greg Hill.

PAUL RONALD SNIPES

EASLEY — Mr. Paul Ronald Snipes, 67, of 109 Woodview Court, husband of Emma Mae Galloway Snipes, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at his residence.

Mr. Snipes was born on January 30, 1947, in Gainesville, Ga., to the late Hoke Smith and Ella Mae Cantrell Snipes. He was a weaver in the textiles industry, having worked for Alice Manufacturing, and retired from Woodside Beattie Plant in Fountain Inn as a weaver. Mr. Snipes enjoyed watching westerns, listening to old music, especially country and Elvis, and loved to play the guitar. Mr. Snipes attended Open Praise Holiness Fellowship Church in Easley.

In addition to his wife, Mrs. Emma Mae Snipes, he is survived by a son; Ronald Shane Snipes of the home; two brothers; Harry Snipes and his wife Lillian of Easley; and Charles Stanley Snipes of Easley; one sister; Carol Bakker of Easley; and one sister-in-law; Mary Snipes. He is also survived by a grandson; Jan Michael Vinson Nelson of Travelers Rest; and three great-grandchildren; Corbin, Destiny, and Michelle Nelson, all of Marietta.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter; Bridgett Meshelle Dickson; two brothers; Wayne Snipes and Jackie Snipes; and one sister, Dorothy “Dot” Rampey.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29, in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, with the Rev. Roland Bearden and Rev. Jerry McCall officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum at Robinson Memorial Gardens.

EASLEY — Olivia Lamar Phillips, 90, of West Third Avenue, died Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, at Capstone Health and Rehab.

Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Paul and Clara Nalley Lamar, Mrs. Phillips retired from Platt-Saco Lowell and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving is a sister, Caroleen Haynie; nephews, William “Bud” Haynie, Robert Haynie (Samantha), Mike Lamar (Dina) and Dicky Lamar; great nieces and nephews, Pam Haynie-Worn (Mark), Maggie Finley (Sam); great-great nephews, Dillon Haynie and Daniel Haynie, and a niece-in-law, Sandra Haynie. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Phillips was predeceased by a brother, Ralph Lamar, a nephew, Jimmy Haynie, and a great-nephew, Lee Haynie.

SIX MILE — Steven Clayton Lowrance, 27, of 325 John Holliday Road, died Thursday Jan. 22, 2015. Born in Easley, he was a son of Timothy Clayton and Deborah Payne Lowrance of Six Mile. He loved to fish and golf and was an avid South Carolina Gamecock fan.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his daughter, Kadence Lowrance of the home; brothers, Jason Scott Lowrance (Georgia) of Liberty; and Boyce Derek Lowrance (Christy) of Columbia; maternal grandparents, Bud and Hattie Payne of Mt. Holly, N.C.; and nephews, Johnathan and Jacob Lowrance and Hunter and Zackkary Lowrance.

EASLEY — William Randolph “Randy” Nunnery, 74, husband of Jo Ann Griffin Nunnery died Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, at his home.

Born in Chester County, the son of the late William Albert and Eva Faulkenberry Nunnery, Mr. Nunnery retired from the South Carolina Highway Patrol with 32 years of service and was a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 52 years, are two sons, Daniel Randolph Nunnery (Clare) of Easley; and William Scott Nunnery (Amy) of Spartanburg; four grandchildren, Zach, Danielle, Jack and Matt Nunnery; and two step-grandchildren, Cameron and Emily Yarbrough.
