SIX MILE — A Pickens man lost his life after being involved in a motorcycle accident last Thursday in Six Mile.

According to Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelley, Allan John Eddleman, 28, of 124 Loop Drive, was pronounced dead from blunt force trauma after being taken to Cannon Memorial Hospital in Pickens.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Eddleman wrecked his 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle near the intersection of Belle Shoals Road and Terrapin Crossing Road near Six Mile at around 1 p.m. Officers say they believe Eddleman was heading north on Belle Shoals and left the right side of the road.

Kelley said Eddleman appeared to have lost control of the motorcycle while traveling a high rate of speed and he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The accident is still under investigation by the highway patrol.
