19 arrested in drug sweep
COUNTY — Pickens County Sheriff’s Deputies along with deputies from Oconee County and officers from the Clemson University Police Department and Clemson Police Department, arrested 19 people last Wednesday on various drug charges.
A total of 66 warrants for crimes including sale of marijuana, sale of a controlled substance and sale within proximity to a school or daycare were served on the 19 arrested, 11 of which are Clemson students.
Additional warrants are outstanding for four other subjects that had not been arrested at press time.
Seized during the arrests were $6,351 in cash, more than 289 grams of high-grade marijuana valued at more than $5,000, one handgun reported stolen from Oconee County, three long guns and various electronic equipment, including a professional-grade ID card machine capable of placing a hologram on ID cards, used to make false identification cards.
The arrests are the result of a six-month joint investigation.
Arrested in the sweep were Jake Christopher John Abbate, Phillip Michael McRae, Jr., Leon Miles Bagwell, Derian Mills Snyder, Ernest William Baldwin, Trevor Vandewater, John Michael Conner, James Daniel Webster, Jr., Jordan Michael Decot, Jamaal James Anthony White, Galen Thaddeus Givens-Rowlin, Arthur Anthony Winfield, Geena Lynn Hammond, Dallas Adam Young, Quinn Peyton Harris, Kimberly Ann Youngblood, Domen Benjamin Jemec, Jason Scott Youngblood and Phillip Michael Mader.
