Delegation plans meeting Monday

LIBERTY — The Pickens County Legislative Delegation will hold a pre-session public meeting at the Pickens County Performing Arts Center, located at 314 W. Main St. in Liberty, on Monday, Jan. 10.

Reports from organizations and boards will be heard starting at 6 p.m. The floor will be opened for public comments directly after.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend the meeting. Residents will have an opportunity to ask questions and make comments to members of the Pickens County Legislative Delegation. Members of the delegation will comment on various issues that may be introduced in the upcoming session of the General Assembly, which convenes on Tuesday, Jan. 11.

The delegation is made up of Sens. Thomas C. Alexander and Rex Rice and Reps. Davey Hiott, Neal A. Collins, Jerry Carter and West Cox.

Twelve Mile upgrades set to start

CLEMSON — The Twelve Mile Recreation Area is a little quieter this time of season, but the park leased by Clemson from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will still feature some activity in the form of upgrades.

“At some point, going into this offseason, we want to address some things hopefully infrastructure-wise and hopefully limb some trees up and take care of some things we couldn’t take care of by taking everything on in the spring right when everything got busy,” city horticulturist Tony Tidwell said recently. “Now we can sort of take a deep breath and have a little better strategy
