COUNTY — A prominent local Republican said he doesn’t believe there was anything nefarious involved in an incident that led to the Pickens County Republican Party not being recognized by statewide governing bodies.

Car dealer Tommy Norris remembered for generosity

EASLEY — Longtime local car dealer Tommy Norris is being remembered for his loyalty, generosity and his love of cars, both on the dealer lot and on the racetrack.

Norris died Saturday at age 78.

In 2014, Tommy Norris was named Time Magazine Automobile Dealer of the Year. He had been in the automobile industry nearly five decades.

Fla. woman struck, killed by vehicles

EASLEY — A 30-year-old Florida woman died last week after being struck by multiple vehicles while in a Pickens County roadway.

Pickens County Coroner Andrew Wilson identified the victim as Desirae May Cote of St. Petersburg.
