Trespass Notices 11-12-25

In the state of South Carolina, trespass after notice is a misdemeanor criminal offense prohibited by section 16-11-620 for the South Carolina Code.

Easley infant’s death under investigation

EASLEY — Local and state agencies are investigating the death of an infant in Easley.

In a news release issued Sunday, Nov. 9, Pickens County Coroner Andrew Wilson said he and chief deputy coroner Tommy Page responded to a home on Hummingbird Lane in Easley at 4:30 a.m. that day “in reference to an infant death.”

“At this time there are no signs of foul play,” Wilson said.

An autopsy was scheduled for a later date, he said.

COUNTY — Voters returned to the polls Tuesday to decide who will represent them in the coming years in municipal seats around Pickens County.

In the only locally contested mayoral races this cycle, Liberty saw incumbent Mayor Erica Romo Woods unseated by challenger Andrea Wagner. Woods picked up just 87 votes compared to Wagner’s 518 votes in the election.

Elsewhere in Liberty, William Bo Cooley, Mikail Cantley, Jon Humphrey and Gerald Wilson all earned spots on Liberty City Council in unopposed races.

In Pickens, voters will have to wait two more weeks for the council chamber to be filled

Area groups discuss SNAP

COUNTY — Nearly 20 dozen area organizations and groups met last week to discuss and coordinate response to the stoppage of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits due to the ongoing shutdown of the federal government.

Although recent judicial rulings could see SNAP benefits restored this month, it remains to be seen if and when that will occur in November.

UCM aid needs soar
