Library board votes to reinstate collection policy

EASLEY — Two weeks after pausing the library system’s controversial collection policy in order to finish the process of hiring an interim director, the Pickens County Library 
Board of Trustees voted to reinstate the policy during a meeting on Thursday night at the Capt. Kimberly Hampton Memorial Library in Easley.
The motion to continue with the implementation of the policy passed 5-2, with chairman Danny Parton and trustees Brian Aiken, Mark Kilburn, Nancy Miller and Alesia Pinkerton

SC AG Wilson voices support of GP Speedway

EASLEY — South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson will make a campaign stop 
April 4 at an event in support of saving the historic Greenville-Pickens Speedway.

SWU receives largest gift in school’s history
CENTRAL — Southern Wesleyan University has received the largest gift in its history, marking a significant moment of transformational support for the institution’s future.
The gift came through the sale of a Christian camp property in North Carolina that had been donated to Southern Wesleyan University in 2025. Following prayerful consideration, the property was sold for $2.125 million to a Christian organization that will continue using the property to advance the cause of Christ.

The new auto parts store, located at 103 Aspen Way, is now fully geared up to serve the community with top quality parts and service.
