The Rev. William Edwards Harris and Mildred Syphronia Guthrie Harris celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Jan. 28. Rev. Harris is a retired minister with the Church of God of Prophecy. Mrs. Harris is a retired inspector with WestPoint Stevens. Rev. Harris served in the U.S. Army, as did the couple’s two sons and two daughters. The couple’s eldest daughter is the elected Veterans Administration officer for Pickens County. The Harrises have six children and many grand and great-grandchildren.
