7th annual Charles Rogers scholarship tourney scheduled

PICKENS — The seventh annual Charles F. Rogers Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament is scheduled for May 21 at the Pickens Country Club.

Proceeds from the event will go to benefit a male and female Pickens High School basketball player planning to attend a university, college or technical school.

Charles Rogers was a Pickens High School basketball star in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, and went on to coach at the school. He passed away in March of 2004.

The tournament, which will follow a captain’s choice format, is scheduled for a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start.

Entry will cost $200 per team or $50 per player, with hole sponsorships available for $50 as well.
Lunch will be provided from 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m., as well as prizes for first, second and third place teams, longest drive and closest to the pin.

Entry deadline is May 20.
