9Round opening soon in Pickens

PICKENS — 9Round, a kickboxing gym, will open for business in Pickens on July 1.

One of the fastest-growing fitness kickboxing franchises in the nation, 9Round offers clients a one-of-a-kind kickboxing fitness class that can be done in just 30 minutes. Owners Michelle Money and Graydon Lockard — a sister and brother duo — said they can’t wait to get their business up and running and start having fitness fun with the people of Pickens.

“We are a brother and sister team who have always wanted to have a career we’re passionate about, so we took our love of fitness and helping others and turned them into the career of our dreams,” the duo said in a statement. “Owning a 9Round franchise allows us to combine what we love into what we do, and we couldn’t be happier.”

The gym will host a grand opening and ribbon-cutting celebration at noon July 1 at 113 West Main St. in downtown Pickens.

The day will feature prizes, a free workout and the first month’s membership for half price.

“Pickens is very excited to welcome 9Round into our growing business mix here in downtown,” Pickens Revitalization Association executive director Allison Fowler said. “We are thrilled to have a new business and especially one that shares the vision of Pickens with us. Michelle and 9Round will be a great asset to our community, and we can’t wait for them to open.”
