Pickens City Council honors Holley, swears in newly elected members

The city of Pickens honored one of its own during Monday night’s council meeting at city hall. Councilman Carlton Holley’s term ended with Holley stepping down to further his education in the ministry. He was presented with an award for his years of service by Mayor David Owens (above left) as council looked on. Holley was also honored on Friday night (above right) as the recipient of the 2017 “I Fan the Flame” Award during the city’s annual Christmas tree lighting at Legacy Square. The meeting also saw council members Donnie McKinney and Donna Owen (below right) sworn into office. Councilman Patrick Lark (below left) could not be at Monday’s meeting. He was sworn in by Owens on Friday at Pickens City Hall for another term on council.
