Pickens Lip Sync Battle sparks community unity

PICKENS — The second annual Lip Sync Battle was held at the Pickens Amphitheater on Saturday, bringing music, laughter and community spirit together for a cause that matters — suicide prevention.
Teams from the Easley Police Department, Easley Fire Department, Pickens County Sheriff’s Office and Pickens Police Department hit the stage with high-energy performances that had the crowd cheering. After an evening of unforgettable routines, the Pickens Police Department was crowned the winner, taking home the Lip Sync Battle trophy for the second year in a row.
The event was hosted by the Behavioral Health Services of Pickens County Youth Board as part of its Guns N’ Hoses event series. Performances were judged on lip sync accuracy, creativity, energy, stage presence and audience engagement.
More than just entertainment, the Lip Sync Battle served as a reminder of the importance of community connection and awareness. Proceeds and support from the event went toward suicide prevention efforts in Pickens County, helping to shine a light on hope and resources for those in need.
Organizers expressed their gratitude to all the first responders who participated, the Youth Board for its leadership, and the community members who filled the amphitheater with encouragement and enthusiasm.
“Events like this show the power of coming together, not just to enjoy some fun performances, but to rally behind a cause that touches so many lives,” said Jessica Gibson, director of Prevention Services and Youth Board at Behavioral Health Services of Pickens County.
The Lip Sync Battle trophy will remain with the Pickens Police Department until next year’s competition, when the challenge will begin again. Up next in the Guns N’ Hoses series is the second annual flag football tournament in November.
