CAROLYN DIANE ‘DINAH’ MCCALL
SIX MILE — Carolyn Diane “Dinah” McCall, 54, loving wife of 29 years to Leon “Lee” McCall, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at her home.
Born on May 12, 1971, in Easley, Dinah was the beloved daughter of the late Willie D. Cooper and Catherine Riggins Patterson. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished her family above all else. Dinah had a deep love for the outdoors and found great joy in simple moments spent around a campfire. Known for her warm and welcoming spirit, she never met a stranger and had a remarkable way of making everyone feel like a friend. Generous and kindhearted, she was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Dinah’s outgoing personality and forgiving nature made her a joy to be around, as she carried a lighthearted spirit and never held a grudge.
In addition to her husband, Dinah is survived by her children, Nikki McMinn (Rodney) of Pickens and Dylan Sisk (Areil) and Levi McCall (Allison), both of Six Mile; grandchildren, Grail, Eli, Rylen, Lahna, Taylor, Easton, Laiken, Emmett and Colton; siblings, Cindy Cooper Hall and Travis Patterson (Amy); and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCall was predeceased by her sister, Lisa Ann Cooper, and nephew, Luke Patterson.
Flowers will be accepted.The family held a memorial service to honor Dinah’s life on March 13 in the sanctuary of Mile Creek Baptist Church.

LEONARD WAYNE POSEY
Liberty — It is with heavy hearts but also with a sense of celebration of a life well lived that we announce the passing of Leonard Wayne Posey, who departed this world peacefully on March 10, 2026, at the age of 80.
Born on May 3, 1945, in Pickens, Leonard was a lifelong resident of Liberty and a true son of the South, who cherished the simple joys of life. He was a son of the late William Ernest and Louise Perkins Posey.
Leonard spent his later days working diligently mowing for the South Carolina Department of Public Transportation. Earlier in his career he worked in the textile industry, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. But it was on his porch, watching the world go by and listening to the sounds of nature, where he truly found peace. He loved spending time with his family, sharing laughter, stories and creating memories that will last forever.
Leonard is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Edith Brewer Posey; and his two loving sons, Jimmy Posey (Janice) and Ricky Posey (Jodie). He will also be missed deeply by his brother, Steve Posey; his sister, Evelyn Ramey; and his two grandchildren, Abaigeal Posey and Brandy Karr.
His warm spirit and kind heart touched so many lives, and he will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a grandson, Justin Posey; a sister, Shirley Carver; and a brother, Lewis Posey.
A celebration of Leonard’s life was held at Liberty Mortuary on March 12. A funeral service was held on March 13 at the Liberty Mortuary chapel. After the service, Leonard was laid to rest near his parents at Westview Cemetery in Liberty.
As we remember Leonard, let us all honor his love for family and the beauty of life’s simple pleasures. He will be greatly missed but lovingly remembered.

FREDERICK SCOTT ‘FREDDY’ WHITMAN
LIBERTY — Frederick Scott “Freddy” Whitman, 60, loving husband of 41 years to Anelia Eliane Whitman, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on Sept. 6, 1965, in Greenville County, Freddy was the beloved son of the late Julius Whitman and Etolia King Whitman. He was associated with Three and Twenty Baptist Church in Easley and found great joy in his faith and community. Freddy had a deep passion for music and was a gifted songwriter who enjoyed writing his own songs and playing the guitar. Music was one of the ways he expressed his heart and creativity. Above all else, Freddy’s greatest love was his family. He absolutely adored his wife and two children, and they were the center of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Anelia Eliane Whitman of the home; children, Jamie Page (Jesse) of Travelers Rest and Tyler Whitman of Easley; grandchildren, Ava Fulghum, Lane Page, Daniel Whitman, Tyler Whitman Jr. and John Whitman; brother, Bryan Whitman (Kelly) of Pickens; a special person in his life, his mother-in-law, Joyce Henderson; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Whitman was predeceased by his brother, Billy Whitman; sisters, Judy Landreth and Caroyln Huff; niece, Keri Thomas; daughter-in-law, Tasia Whitman; father-in-law, Charles Henderson; sister-in-law, Denise Mathis; and brother-in-law, Matthew Henderson.
The family will hold a memorial service to honor Freddy’s life at 2 p.m. March 21 in the sanctuary of Three and Twenty Baptist Church, 213 Ridge Road, Easley, SC 29642.

BRENDA DIANE SWEET
EASLEY — Brenda Diane Sweet, 74, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, at Fleetwood Post Acute.
Born on Sept. 30, 1951, in Greer, Diane was the cherished daughter of Mildred Grant Searcy and the late Vernon Searcy. She was a woman whose life was centered around love, especially for her family, whom she treasured deeply. Diane never met a stranger and had a remarkable gift for making others feel welcomed and valued. Her warm spirit and love of conversation left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
In addition to her mother, Diane is survived by her daughter, Cindy Shaffer (Billy) of Greenville; grandchildren, Hunter and Alex; great-grandson, Ryan; brother, James Searcy (Teena); niece, Charlotte Marquess (Jeff); and nephew, Travis Searcy (Ashley).
In addition to her father, Mrs. Sweet was predeceased by her brothers, Gene Searcy and Steve Searcy.
