Bike ride planned to benefit food bank

PICKENS — The first ever “Canned Food Run” bike ride to benefit the Gleaning House will be held on April 9.

The event will help provide needed canned food items for the Gleaning House, a local food bank in Pickens.

All bikes and bikers will meet at noon on the corner of S.C. 8 and S.C. 183 in Pickens. Bikes will be leaving the parking lot at 1 p.m. All bikers are asked to bring three nonperishable food items to donate to Gleaning House. Everyone is welcome to take part.

The ride will end with a free concert. Door prizes will be given, as will trophies for the oldest bike and the best looking bike.
