PICKENS — Cannon Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will hold its annual golf tournament at Bear Valley Golf Course on Saturday, Aug. 1.

The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The captain’s choice format is $75 per player or $300 per team. The playing field will max at 100 players.

The entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, cart, breakfast and lunch. Mulligans and red tees will be available for $5 each. In addition, closest to the pin, long drive and “hit the green” contests will be held. A live auction on selected items will also be held after the event.

The money raised annually from the auxiliary tournament is used to purchase equipment, such as Cannon’s digital mammography machine and other vital pieces of equipment. Since 1967, Cannon volunteers have played an important part in supporting our community hospital through various fundraisers. The tournament remains the largest fundraiser for the organization of dedicated volunteers.

Registration for the 2015 can be made by calling Amanda Cooper at Cannon hospital at (864) 898-1334 or emailing acooper@cmhsc.org for a registration form. Players can also register by calling Bear Valley at 878-2030 or signing up in the Pro Shop. Deadline to register is July 30.
