LMSC Teen Miss Pickens County plans meet and greet at The Scoop
Nevaeh Grace Woodson was recently crowned LMSC Teen Miss
Pickens County and LMSC Sparkle City Sweetheart. She is a sophomore at Daniel High school and will be representing Pickens County at the LMSC Little Miss and Teen Miss South Carolina pageants in July. Woodson is planning a meet and greet from noon-2 p.m. April 28 at The Scoop in Six Mile.
‘Music in the Park’ continues April 28 as Ole #4 performs
LIBERTY — The 2019 Spring Music Series “Music In The Park” began April 6 and will continue every Saturday until June 29
(skipping May 18 for the Spring Festival).
The events are scheduled each Saturday from 6:30-9:30 p.m. in Sarlin Park off South Commerce Street downtown.

Happy 90th birthday
Community Wide Reunion planned May 4 in Pickens
PICKENS — The second annual Pickens Community Wide Reunion is set for Saturday, May 4, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The event will again be held this year at 450 Garvin St. in Pickens.
The free fun-filled event will feature food vendors, games, arts and crafts, raffles and prizes, classic and muscle cars, classic motorcycles and musical entertainment. Organizers say new activities have been added that will be fun for all.
Those interested in being a vendor, showing a car or motorcycle or volunteering are asked to call Lynne Perry at (864) 567-7282 or (864) 878-6123.
The event is sponsored by Arise From The Ashes Community Development Corporation (AFTA-CDC). The AFTA-CDC is a local nonprofit that is focused on community revitalization within Pickens.
Opera For Kids brings ‘Three Pigs’ to Pickens
PICKENS — A classic children’s story came to life recently for the students enrolled at the Pickens Presbyterian Church Child Development Center.
Opera For Kids, organized and administered by FBN Opera Productions of Chapin, arrived early on Friday, April 5, to set up the scenery for “The Three Pigs.”
Professional singers and actors from FBN Opera Productions, have been presenting children’s favorite stories set to music for 25 years.

Easley Spring Fling is Saturday

EASLEY — Easley’s Spring Fling will feature more than 130 vendors this Saturday.
The event is scheduled for 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Old Market Square.
City clerk and farmers marker manager Lisa Chapman said the festival will feature two entertainment stages.
The Easley Combined Utilities stage will host dance performances and acoustic performances.
“There will be jazz bands all day long on the amphitheater stage,” Chapman said.

YAMS and others to take part in old-time radio show performance
PICKENS — This Saturday, April 6, the Young Appalachian Musicians (YAM) will host their third radio show at the Hagood Community Center (aka Pickens Senior Center) Auditorium
from 7-9 p.m.
Electric City Bluegrass 104.7 FM of Anderson will produce the show, and Bud Burdette will be the emcee.
Three groups from the Upstate will be entertaining. Mountain Bridge is a traditionally styled bluegrass band led by Chad Simpson and Josh Johnson. Simpson brings vocal stylings similar to James King and Junior Sisk to the band along with his strong rhythm guitar. Johnson
