Never cut a den tree
Psalm 91: 1-2 “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.”
Yesterday I was cutting along a wooded area to clear for building a fence. Nearing the end of the fence line, about to cut a mostly dead oak, I noticed two holes in a (ten inch) limb about 20 feet up.

The enduring foundation of social and economic progress
The progress of humanity is founded upon moral integrity. History teaches us that nations and societies fail as they experience moral decline.
Currently, all humanity is gripped in a moral crisis. Governments and institutions are discredited by corruption and inadequacy. Societies are afflicted by the erosion of standards of right and wrong. Truth and knowledge are ignored, derided and ridiculed. Waning basic decency plagues politics and communities. These

Read the warning label
Mark 9:43-44 “And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.”
Matthew 13:42 “And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”
It may have been about 1990 that I had an intensive salt craving. Walking into a local grocery, my first inclination was to indulge

He is transmitting, but are we dialed in?
As followers of Christ, we have the opportunity to become as close to God as we desire, and the result is an increased spiritual sensitivity where we can recognize and understand what God is saying.
I’ve spoken with many Christians about this and very few develop a habit of intentionally listening to the Holy Spirit for an increased spiritual awareness of His presence? Discerning wisdom that is hidden from our earthly

Public input at Liberty meetings
Dear Editor,
You may have read the back and forth on social media when it comes to the city of Liberty policy on public input at council meetings. The policy only allows citizens of the city to speak during public input, and they must sign up through the clerk’s office hours before. Let me weigh in on it.
First, let’s start with the policy that is on the books.

The Department of Veterans Affairs’ Fiduciary Program is set up to help veterans take care of their finances and benefits if they can’t handle it themselves because they’re sick, injured or elderly. There is a lot of money at stake: $2.7 billion in a recent year. Each of the
