CENTRAL — Facing an early 3-0 deficit through one quarter, the Daniel Lions seemed to have finally met their match against defending Class 4A state champion Wren on Friday night.
Coupling the early deficit with the fact that Daniel was without starting quarterback Jackson Crosby, it seemed like it could be a long night for the Lions.
However, the Daniel defense put on an almost perfect showing the rest of the way and junior quarterback Trent Pearman found his footing in the second half, leading the Lions to a dominant 30-10 win over the Hurricanes.
The Daniel defense continued to prove to be one of the best and most opportunistic in the state, getting its third pick-six in as many weeks. In the

The Pickens win was the Blue Flame’s first in the rivalry since 2010.
“Great game, great rivalry game right there,” Easley coach Jordan Durrah said. “It’s kind of what you expect when you come out and watch Easley and Pickens.”
The game had it all — several lead changes, both teams recording a safety on defense and above all, several
