Christy Porter

EASLEY — Baptist Easley’s Christy Porter, MSN, RN, was named a recipient of the 2015 Palmetto Gold Award for nursing excellence.

The Palmetto Gold Award honors South Carolina nurses from various practice settings who exemplify excellence in nursing practice and commitment to the profession. Porter was recognized and honored by her peers in the state for her accomplishments and contributions to nursing.

As supervisor of the Abundant Living program at Baptist Easley, Porter “promotes and advances the profession of nursing and specialty of faith community,” as her nomination stated. The community healthcare ministry outreach program involves 120 congregations and reaches an estimated 30,000 people. Porter educates and serves as a resource for 320 congregational health promoters. She has a passion for community and disease prevention education. She has been employed with Baptist Easley for 20 years.
