• Karen Peck set to sing at amphitheater

The Pickens Amphitheater is preparing for an unforgettable evening of gospel music under the stars. Set for 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at the amphitheater off Main Street in Pickens, the concert is bound to uplift the soul.
The legendary Karen Peck and New River will be in concert. Karen Peck and New River have five Grammy nominations and seven GMA Dove Awards to their name.
The group has been making a profound impact on the gospel industry for nearly three decades. Known for their heartfelt lyrics, soul-stirring melodies and powerful vocals, Karen Peck and New River have touched the hearts of countless fans with their music. Their harmonious blend of voices and unwavering faith have made them a beloved staple in gospel music. The event is a free, non-ticketed event. • Pickens Rec holding basketball signups

Basketball registration is open now through this Friday, Oct. 27, at the Pickens Recreation Department.

• PHS class of 1967 to hold reunion Nov. 11

The Pickens High School Class of 1967 will have a meet-up event on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. at the Table Rock State Park Lodge.
Classmates will meet up on the lower level and are asked to bring their own individual lunch and beverages.
The Music on the Mountain event, which runs from 2-6 p.m. every second Saturday, will be held afterward.
