• Quickwitz to host workshop at Cannon
Cannon Memorial Hospital and QuickWitz will also hold a workshop in the Cannon classroom on June 25 from 3-4 p.m. The workshop will focus on QuickWitz, a mental fitness program designed to maximize mental ability. It is composed of hands-on, fun and interactive activities designed to help the aging brain get sharp and stay sharp. The QuickWitz workshop will be limited to only 25 participants. • Georges Creek to host VBS July 19-23
Georges Creek Baptist Church will hold its annual Vacation Bible School July 19-23. This year’s theme is “Journey Off the Map.” The VBS is for ages 2 years old through sixth grade and will run nightly from 6-8:30. • Celebrate America Festival is July 3-4
The City of Easley and Gilstrap Family Dealerships’ Celebrate America Festival will be held on Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4, from 2-10 p.m. both days. The event will be held at Old Market Square in downtown Easley. The city’s Celebrate America is one of the oldest and largest festivals in the area. This two-day event is great family fun with vendors and carnival rides. There will be a free concert each night and one of the best fireworks displays in the Upstate on the night of July 4. • Alzheimer’s program planned at Cannon
In honor of those affected by Alzheimer’s, Cannon Memorial Hospital and the Greenville Alzheimer’s Association will hold an educational program on “The Basics of Alzheimer’s” on Thursday, June 25, from 10-11 a.m. in the classroom at Cannon. If you or someone you know is affected by Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, it’s time to learn the facts. The program provides information on detection, causes and risk factors, stages of the disease, treatment and much more.
• BHPC ‘s Steppin’ It up meeting is July 13
Behavioral Health Services of Pickens County’s Steppin’ It Up Coalition. with hold there next meeting on July 13 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
The meet will be helf at Behavioral Health Services of Pickens County located at 303 E. Main Street in Pickens Meetings are open to anyone interested in educating our youth on the dangers and health implications of alcohol, tobacco and drug exposure and use.
• Gospel singing set at Clear Crystal Hall
An outdoor singing is set for the Clear Crystal Music Hall on June 27, starting at 2 p.m. Many groups will perform. The music hall is located at 3526 Six Mile Highway in Central.
