• Literacy association book sale is this week

The Pickens Literacy Association will have its semiannual book sale at the Market at the Mill this Wednesday, Nov. 3, through Saturday, Nov. 6.  The sale will be open daily from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Most books are priced at 50 cents or $1 each.  Books will be $5 a box all day on Saturday.

• Baha’is event set at Hampton Library

The Baha’is of Pickens County will host a presentation for the Birth of Baha’u’llah at Easley’s Hampton Memorial Library on Sunday, Nov. 7, from 2:30-3:30 p.m.. • Legion Post 52 plans events for holidays

American Legion Post 52 in Easley will have a Veterans Day program at Robinson Memorial Garden, located at 1425 Powdersville Road, at 11 a.m. Nov. 11.
American Legion Post 52 will also present the Wreaths Across America program at Robinson Memorial Garden at 10 a.m. Dec. 18. Anyone wishing to lay a wreath at the ceremony or just support the program is asked to send a check of $15 for each wreath to American Legion Post 52, 118A Legion St., Easley, SC 29642. American Legion Post 52 sells American flags and South Carolina flags, all made in the USA. Everyone is invited.

• Story Time Plus programs planned

Each month, Boxwood Manor, located in Pendleton, and Collins Ole Towne, located in Central, are sites for Story Time Plus programs and Homeschool Days.
Story Time Plus runs 10-11:30 a.m. and is designed for ages 8 and under. Admission is $3 for each child age 5 or older, with a $10 household maximum.
Homeschool Day runs from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and is designed for ages 6 through 14. Admission is $5 for ages 6 and over, with a $15 household maximum.

Nov. 17 or 18 (The Human Body), Dec. 15 or 16 (Science and Technology)
Collins Ole Towne (Central) — Nov. 28 only (Native Americans), Dec. 22 or 23 (Westward Expansion).

Story Time Plus schedule
Boxwood Manor (Pendleton) — Dec. 9 (Colonial Christmas).
