Don’t mess with our lakes

Dear Editor,

Pickens County is considering a proposed ordinance establishing a Lake Keowee and Lake Jocassee overlay district to protect water quality, provide a safe environment for wildlife, conserve natural resources and safeguard our drinking water by preventing excessive development within 1,500 feet of the shoreline. This applies to any commercial or industrial construction within the buffer.
