True public servant Oliver Nealy passes away at age 85

OLIVER A. NEALY

PICKENS — Oliver A. Nealy, 85, husband of Dianne Essig Nealy, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021.

Oliver was born in Pickens, a son of the late J.A. “Bunk” and Nathalee Sammons Nealy. He was a 1954 graduate of Pickens High School, where he played on the 1952 state championship football team. After graduation from Toccoa Falls College and his marriage to Dianne, he stayed in Toccoa and took over facilities management of the college and even served as fire chief of the college.

In 1969, the Nealys returned to Pickens and he joined the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office when Sheriff David Stone was elected. In 1974, Oliver followed in his grandfather’s footsteps and became Chief of Police of Pickens, a position he held until 1981, when he was elected Pickens County Clerk of Court. He served as Clerk of Court until his retirement in 2000.

An active church worker, Oliver served as Minister of Music for 11 years at East Pickens Baptist Church and 20 years for Secona Baptist Church, where he was currently an active member of all activities of the church and Men’s Ministry.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Dianne E. Nealy; his son, John Nealy (Sharon) of Pickens; and his daughter, Katherine Davidson (Brian) of Pickens.

Grandchildren include Jesse Nealy, Joseph Nealy (Shannon) and Jonathan Nealy, and two stepgrandchildren. Also surviving is his sister, Sadie Lee.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14, at East Pickens Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Bevill, Mr. Bart Turner and the Rev. Daniel Heeringa officiating. Burial will be private at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Secona Baptist Church, Vision Growth, 234 Secona Road, Pickens, SC 29671.

COVID-19 precautions will be in place at the service. Guests will be required to wear masks and practice social distancing.

WILLIAM ‘SKEETER’ CHARLES CLARDY

EASLEY — William “Skeeter” Charles Clardy went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021.

Born in Liberty, he was the son of the late Colie Lee and Eunice Christine Owens Clardy.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Bowers Collins Clardy; his son, Charles Timothy (Kimberley); his stepsons, Rep. Neal Collins (Amanda) and Jack Collins; his sisters, Joann McKee (Roy) of Mauldin, Jane Kay (David) of Mauldin and Barbara Rampey (Larry) of Liberty; and his brother, Wayne Clardy (Marsha) of Liberty.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Kenneth, Boyce and Daniel Clardy. He is survived by his ex-wife, Phoebe Sheridan Clardy.

Skeeter enjoyed attending auctions and flea markets, traveling to lock shows, socializing at the Easley Gun Store and going to the World’s Longest Yard Sale every year.

He greatly loved working on and collecting locks.

After working in textiles as a supervisor for many years, Skeeter started Clardy’s Locksmith in 1992. He started out as a locksmith apprentice to Mr. Marvin Synder in Liberty. Mr. Snyder encouraged Skeeter to do a good deed every day and, in return, he would have a good business. He strived to live by this.

Skeeter was a lifetime member of the South Carolina Locksmith Association (SCLA) and the Lock Museum of America in Terryville, Conn. He served on the SCLA board and was elected the second SCLA vice president. He also received the SCLA President’s Choice Award in 2014 and the Frank Vargo Locksmith of the Year Award in 2015.

Skeeter will be missed by many, including his family, best friends Buddy and Debra Phillips, and all the guys at the Easley Gun Store.

We want to thank everyone who cared for Skeeter throughout his hospitalizations and during his time at home, to include Southern Care Hospice Services and friends who visited. A special thank you to Tim, Neal and Amanda, who helped care for him with Mary every day.

Skeeter did not wish to have a service, so to honor this, there will not be one held.

BILLY BYRON CARPENTER

EASLEY — Billy Byron Carpenter, 59, loving husband of 31 years to Renee Marie Chappell Carpenter, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, at Baptist Easley Hospital.

A native of Pickens County, Billy was born on April 2, 1961, to the late Eddie Carpenter Sr. and Nettie Sue Morgan Carpenter.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Carpenter is survived by two sisters, Cheryl Dunegan and Jeannie Herring (Tim); two sisters-in-law, Juanita Proffitt (Robert) and Carylon Thompson (Barry); one brother-in-law, Timothy Ryder; six nephews and five nieces.

Billy was predeceased by his parents, a brother, Eddie Carpenter Jr., and a sister, Cathy Cox.

The family held a memorial service to honor Billy’s life on Jan. 10 at Gap Hill Baptist Church.

MICHAEL ERVIN HAYES

PICKENS — Michael Ervin Hayes, 57, husband of Cheryl Breazeale Hayes, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021, at Oconee Memorial Hospital.

Michael was a retired detective from the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office and the current risk manager with Pickens County.

Michael is survived by his wife, Cheryl; children, Shane Hayes (Amanda) of Anderson, Michelle Gareri (Corey) of Pickens and Elijah Hayes (Sara) of Seneca; grandchildren, Mattie Grace, Mollie, Shelby, Griffin and Cooper; and a sister, Julie Hayes Trotter.

Mr. Hayes was predeceased by his parents, Milford Ervin Hayes and Bobbie Chappell Hayes.

A graveside service was held on Jan. 11 at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

DEBORAH LYNN PHILLIPS WARD

EASLEY — Mrs. Deborah Lynn Ward, 58, wife of Timothy Jack Ward, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021.

Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of Miriam Brandt Phillips and the late William Jack Phillips.

Lynn ran her own daycare, “Ms. Lynn’s Place” for more than 25 years and was a member of NewSpring Church.

Surviving, in addition to her mother and husband of seven years, are a daughter, Anna Langston (Jordan Aiken); a brother, Michael Phillips (Martha); and four grandchildren, Kada, Gage, Breana and Ryland.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 19, at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown Chapel.

GLENDA FAYE FINLEY GANTT

PICKENS — Glenda Faye Finley Gantt, 78, passed away on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, at Cottingham Hospice House due to complications from a previous heart attack.

Glenda, better known as Chinna to those who loved and knew her well, was born on Feb. 14, 1942, in Pickens. She graduated from Pickens High School in 1961 and spent most of her life working as a receptionist.

At age 34, when tragedy struck the family, Chinna took in her brother’s children — two nieces and two nephews, Roger Finley, Tammy Trotter, Mickey Finley and Dawn Finley.

Raising her from age 9, Chinna became remarkably close with Dawn, even helping to raise Dawn’s two girls, Brittany and Lauren, like her own grandchildren.

Chinna spent most of her free time with family and friends. She was a member of Blue Ridge View Baptist Church and a lover of gospel music and the Gaither Vocal Band.

She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Finley, and granddaughters, Brittany and Lauren Williams, as well as her nephew, Roger Finley (and wife Zane Finley); niece, Tammy Trotter (and husband Keith Trotter); and nephew, Mickey Finley (and wife Glenda Finley).

Other close loved ones she wanted to be mentioned are her niece, Lisa Elkins; her great-nephew, Austin Mulkey; and her lifelong friend, Patsy Martin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Ada Finley; three brothers; and four sisters. She was the last of her siblings to pass.

A family will host a visitation on Saturday, Jan. 16, from 1-2 p.m. The memorial service will follow at 2 p.m., with Pastor Stuart Houston officiating the service. Visitation and memorial service will be held at Blue Ridge View Baptist Church, located at 745 Wolf Creek Road, Pickens, SC 29671.

Memorials may be sent to the family at 123 Sharky Drive, Easley, SC 29640.

The family would like to thank the Cottingham Hospice House and the around-the-clock nurses who helped make Chinna extremely comfortable in her final weeks.

LOIS MEDLIN WATSON

LIBERTY — Mrs. Lois Medlin Watson, 76, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, after a brief illness at the home of her great niece, Jennifer W. Richeson (Kyle) in Townville.

Lois was the widow of David L. Watson and the daughter of the late Claude and Etta Swords Medlin.

Lois graduated from Liberty High School in 1963. She and David traveled extensively during his 22-year career in the Air Force, living in Africa and Haiti, as well as numerous other places throughout the United States.

Mrs. Watson is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth M. Dodson of Norris and Sarah M. Burns of Liberty; two brothers, J.D. Medlin and Guy Medlin, both of Norris; a sister-in-law, Margie Weems Medlin of Norris; two special nieces, Dianne D. Winkler of Liberty and Doris D. Smith (Van) of Easley; along with many other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Lois was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Medlin.

Graveside services were conducted on Sunday, Jan. 10, at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens. No formal visitation is planned.

The family members will be at their respective homes.

MARTHA ULDRICK

EASLEY — Martha Uldrick, formerly of Greenwood, 92, wife of the late William A. Uldrick, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021 at her home.

A native of Anderson County, Martha was born on Sept. 17, 1928, the daughter of the late Marshall H. and Addie T. Standridge. Mrs. Uldrick was a former member of Westside Baptist Church in Greenwood.

Survivors include her granddaughter, Aimee Parker Underwood (Marty) of the home; great-granddaughter, Tiffany Underwood; great-great-granddaughter, Talyn Altop; and great-great-grandson, Tyde Parker-Martin Underwood, all of Easley. Mrs. Uldrick is also survived by a brother, Mack Standridge of Lexington, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Martha was predeceased by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynne U. Parker and Michael C. Parker both of Easley; brother, Jerry Standridge of Ware Shoals; and sisters, Alma Garrett of Anderson, Hazel England of Westminster and Doris Wilson of Taylors.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, 3302 Highway 25 North, Hodges, SC 29653.

The family would like thank caregivers Debbie Garrett and Rosa Bray for their support and care over the past 15 months. The family would also like to thank Hospice of the Upstate as well.

JOE FRANK HUGHES

PICKENS — Joe Frank Hughes, 90, loving husband of 66 years to Myrna Jean Hughes, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family.

A native of Pickens County, Joe was born on Oct. 8, 1930, to the late Thomas Hughes and Pauline Porter Hughes.

Mr. Hughes enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. He was a United States Army veteran. Joe was also a member of Griffin Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.

In addition to his wife, Myrna, of the home, Mr. Hughes is survived by his daughter, Terri Aiken (Roger) of Marietta; grandchildren, Tessa Ellenburg (Eric) of Sunset and Candie Aiken of Easley; great-grandchildren, Kayne, Brayden, Jackson, Christina, Elizabeth and Brodie Hughes (Ilene), Freddie Seaborn, Francis Riggins and Annette Smith.

In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by a sister, Lois Osborne and a brother, Portis Hughes.

Funeral services were held on Jan. 8 in the chapel of the new mausoleum at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

JAMES WALTER BREAZEALE

EASLEY — James Walter Breazeale, 83, loving husband of 66 years to Betty Holcombe Breazeale, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021.

A native of Pickens County, James was born Oct. 28, 1937, the son of the late Guy and Hattie Breazeale. Mr. Breazeale retired from John S. Clark Construction, where he oversaw the building and construction of churches across the Southeast. He was also a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Betty, of the home; a daughter, Rhonda Black; a son, Stuart Breazeale (Jill); a grandson, Trent Black; two great-granddaughters, Rylee Black and Kielyn Riddle; a brother, Carl Breazeale; a sister, Guynell Smith; and a special niece, LaVonda Bay.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Breazeale was predeceased by an infant daughter, Karen Lynne, and an infant son, David Wayne; two grandsons, Ryan Black and Travis Black; as well as five brothers and four sisters.

The family will hold a private service to honor James’ life.

LEONARD OWEN

LIBERTY — Leonard Duard Owen, 82, of Blue Ridge Drive, died on Friday, Jan. 8, 2021, at AnMed Healthcare in Anderson.

Born in Liberty, he was the widower of Betty Marcus Owen and a son of the late William Claude and Lillian Johnston Owen. He was a self-employed brick mason and was a member of East Side Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.

Surviving are two brothers, Allen Owen of Charleston and Herschel Owen of Liberty; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Claudia Whitlock; and a brother, Fred Owen.

Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Owen were held in the Liberty Mortuary chapel on Jan. 12. Burial with military honors followed at Liberty Memorial Gardens.

JEFFREY STEPHEN ADCOX

PICKENS — Mr. Jeffrey Stephen “Jeff” Adcox, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, in Sylva, N.C.

Jeff was born in Pickens County on July 23, 1973, to Charles “Chuck” Adcox (Lynn) of Pickens and Susan Lynn Lankford Culbreath (Rick) of Easley.

Jeff was liked by anyone who got to know him and never met a stranger. With his heart of gold, he would do anything for anyone that he met. A family man, his son was his world, and he was an avid musician, playing the guitar and singing. Jeff loved to drive tractor-trailer trucks and fishing, especially for trout. A true “neat freak,” he was always making sure that his hygiene was next to Godliness. He was currently working for Durham’s Hardwood and was a member of Mile Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents and their spouses, Jeff is survived by his son, Clay Adcox of Cullowhee, N.C.; and two brothers, Dane Adcox of Pickens and John Culbreath of Charleston.

Jeff was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Violet Adcox; and his maternal grandparents, J.B. and Edith Lankford.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, all services for Jeff will be private. Jeff will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park, where friends may visit his grave after Wednesday.

The family will be planning a celebration of Jeff’s life that will be announced at a later date once current restrictions are lifted.

ANNA CHRISTINE LYDA MICKLER

CLEVELAND, Tenn. — Mrs. Anna Christine Lyda Mickler, affectionately known as “Babe,” departed this life to be with Jesus on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at Tennova Healthcare in Cleveland, Tenn.

Born on Dec. 13, 1935, to Henry Blaine Lyda and Opal Breedlove Lyda, she was one of 13 children who lived daily farm life in rural Pickens County.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, John J. Mickler, in 2004 and by brothers Grover, Hiram, Glenn and Racine and sisters, Gertrude, Bernice and most recently in 2019, Leila.

Mrs. Mickler is survived by her remaining brothers, Roscoe Lyda and wife, Edna; Lawrence Lyda and wife, Regina; sisters, Edna Hallyburton, Revelee Garzone and Margaret Gilstrap; as well as extended family in Florida, Georgia and Arizona.

She is also survived by daughters, Patricia Sluder and husband, Marty, of Cleveland, Tenn., and Jan Long and husband, Daniel of Greer; and sons, Steve Mickler and wife, Sandra, of Pickens and John Robert Mickler and wife, Dixie, of Cleveland, Tenn., with whom she had made her home for the past eight years.

In addition to her siblings and children, She is survived by her grandchildren, Sheryl Mickler of Westminster, Brad (Allison) Mickler of Pickens, John Christopher (Kathleen) Mickler and Nicole Mickler, all of Dallas, Texas, Jesse (Holly) Long and Jared Long of Greer and Craig (Lindsay) Sluder of Cleveland, Tenn. Mrs. Mickler was honored to be a great-grandmother to Makayla and Gabriel Rollins, Braelyn Blackwell, Kale, Bryce and Payton Mickler, Ben, Graham, Henry and Daisy Sluder, and the newest great-grandson born in August, John Porter Mickler. She was happy to know that great-grandchild Baby Long will arrive in March.

She was retired from McKechnie Plastics in Easley and was a longtime member of Pickens Church of God. She had known Christ as her Savior from a very young age. She enjoyed gospel music, especially the Gaithers, and loved her family with all her heart. For the past eight years, she helped to care for her daughter-in-law, Dixie, as she has battled Alzheimer’s, giving her time and her love to her “little angel,” as she affectionately referred to Dixie. Through a trying 2020, with multiple health issues, she grew tired and longed to be with those who had gone before her and to relocate to her heavenly home. She celebrated her 85th birthday just a few weeks ago surrounded by the family she loved. What a compassionate God we serve. She slipped away peacefully with no struggle, and the family gives thanks to God for His mercy. Psalm 115:16: “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” She will be deeply missed, but we find comfort as we survey the night sky and see a star that shines a little brighter.

DONALD ‘DONNIE’ LESLIE CHASTAIN

PICKENS — Donald “Donnie” Leslie Chastain, 82, loving husband of 58 years to Reba Haskett Chastain, passed away on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, at home after a long battle with cancer.

Donald was born on Feb. 15, 1938, to the late Beal and Eva Chapman Chastain of the Holly Springs community in Pickens County.

Mr. Chastain was a loyal employee of Pickens County Solid Waste and retired after many years of service to the county. Donnie was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. He also served as chairman of the Holly Springs Cemetery Committee for 16 years.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Chastain is survived by sisters, Mary Ann Patterson and Mildred Chastain; brothers, James Allen Chastain and David Chastain (Janet), all of Pickens; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Chastain was preceded in death by a brother, Woodie, and a sister, Martha Welborn.

A graveside service was held on Dec. 30 at the Holly Springs Baptist Church cemetery, 3450 Table Rock Road, Pickens, SC 29671.

TOMMY SCOTT

LIBERTY — Pastor Thomas John “Tommy” Scott Sr., 64, of Forest View Circle, died on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Greenville, he was the husband of Lois Diana Murdock Scott and a son of the late Carlos Odell and Christina Nikatis Scott.

He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was always eager to serve the Lord and tell others about Jesus and served as the pastor of The Church of Love and Truth for 10 years. He was also the associate pastor at The Dwelling Place in Asheville, N.C.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Thomas John Scott Jr. (Taelor) of Rock Hill and Christopher Neil Scott of Easley; two brothers, Stephen Carlos Scott, of Raleigh, N.C., and Carlos Odell Scott Jr. of Piedmont; and six grandchildren, Christiahna, Bryson, Emma, Kaydence and Baelen Scott and Kaleigh Bourgoin.

Funeral services to honor the life of Pastor Scott were held in the Liberty Mortuary chapel on Jan. 11. Burial was held at Liberty Memorial Gardens.

LARRY BURRELL JOLLEY

EASLEY — Mr. Larry Burrell Jolley, 60, husband of Cynthia “Cindy” Isley Jolley, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021.

Born in Boiling Springs, N.C., a son of Dorothy Bridges Jolley of Cliffside, N.C. and the late Richard Clyde Jolley, Mr. Jolley was a graduate of Chase High School and attended Gardner-Webb University. He retired from BMW and was a member of Tapestry Church.

Larry was an avid Tar Heels fan and loved music, singing, ice hockey and riding his motorcycle with his wife, Cindy. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 39 years, are a son, Chris Jolley (Melanie Buchanan) of Kansas City, Miss.; two brothers, Gary Jolley (Liz) of North Carolina and Charles Jolley (Kathy) of Virginia; a sister, Brenda Stephens (Roger) of North Carolina; and his mother-in-law, Elsie Isley of Easley.

In addition to his father, Mr. Jolley was predeceased by a brother, Dennis Jolley.

Graveside services were held on Jan. 10 at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

BERTHA LUCILLE PORTER

SIX MILE — Mrs. Bertha Lucille Porter, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Jan. 10, 2021.

Mrs. Porter was born in Pickens and was the daughter of the late Guy Roberts and Esther Baker Roberts and loving wife for 71 years to James E. Porter.

Survivors, along with her husband, include her three daughters, Sadaris Duncan (Wayne) of Easley, Phronsia Hunter of Liberty and Libby Burnette (Blake) of Augusta, Ga.; and five grandchildren, Allison Duncan, Courtney Barksdale, Justin Barksdale, Calieghanne Burnette and Noah Burnette; and four great-grandchildren, Dylan Barksdale, Breanna Barksdale, Sophia Burnette and Gabriel Duncan. Also surviving are sisters Bethel Childress of Berea and Guynell Durham of Easley and two brothers, Stanley Earl Roberts of Berea and James T. Roberts (Gail) of Pendleton.

Mrs. Porter was predeceased by Bennett Claude Roberts, Glen Roberts, Jessie D. Roberts, Rachel Posey, Rosalee Patterson and an infant brother and an infant sister.

Mrs. Porter was of the Wesleyan faith and loved her family. She would do for her girls whatever she could. She was a strong woman and grew up working on a farm. She was one of 12 children. She loved being outdoors and growing her flowers. She taught herself to play the piano when she was in her early 40s.

Services will remain private to the family.

GLADYS MCJUNKIN GILLESPIE

EASLEY — Gladys McJunkin Gillespie passed away on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020, at the age of 90.

Mrs. Gillespie was born on May 3, 1930, in Beaufort. She was the daughter of the late Leonard and Leona Howell McJunkin, and the wife of the late Cecil Gillespie.

Gladys had worked at various retailers as a cashier and retired from Wal-Mart in Easley. She was a member of Jones Avenue Baptist Church in Easley.

Surviving are two children, Jimmy Gillespie (Katie) of Central and Janice Tate of Easley; two grandchildren, Christopher Gillespie of Lynchburg, Va., and Aaron Tate (Michelle) of Anderson, S.C.; and one sister, Clara McJunkin Crowe of Anderson.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Lewis McJunkin, Lloyd McJunkin and Tom McJunkin; and two sisters, Lucille McJunkin and Allene McJunkin Garrett.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, no services or visitation are planned. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Church in Liberty.

WILLIAM BERRY JAMESON

EASLEY — Mr. William Berry Jameson, 87, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021.

Mr. Jameson was born in Pickens County and was the son of the late Burl Lee Jameson and Essie Ellison Jameson and husband of the late Joan Smith Jameson.

Survivors include a son, Stan L. Jameson (Fran) and a daughter, Jane Jameson, both of Easley; two grandchildren, Daniel Jameson (Kaylee) and Parker Jameson (Sydney), both of Easley; and two great-grandchildren, Caleb Powell and Landon Jameson.

Mr. Jameson is the last of his siblings and was predeceased by a brother, B.L. Jameson, and sisters, Nannie Mae McCollum, Mary Lee Nolan, Iris Abercrombie, Bettie Abercrombie, Ruby Jane Burnett and Barbara Gantt.

Mr. Jameson served in the United States Air Force and loved his country. He loved his family. He enjoyed cars and car racing, especially drag racing. He enjoyed his grandchildren and their love of racing. He played golf and had a hole in one to his credit. He loved hearing his beagles run rabbits. Mr. Jameson was a simple man and did not want a lot of attention on himself. He will be truly missed by those who knew him.

A graveside service was held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Jan. 7, with the Rev. Michael Montgomery officiating.

JAMES ‘JAMIE’ HAROLD PRICE, JR.

GREER — Jamie Price, 56, passed from this life on Thursday, January 7, 2021.

A native of Greenville County, James was born Sept. 26, 1964, the eldest child of James Harold Price Sr. and Sara Geanette Lark Price.

Survivors include one brother, Jackie Price (Della) of Pickens; three sisters, Thelma Ramsey of Greer, Betty Good of Greer and Catherine Hampton of Marietta, and their families. Jamie is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Jamie loved spending time with his family and friends. His hobbies were fishing and dirt track racing.

A memorial service will be held in his honor at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at O’Neal Church of God, 3794 Berry Mill Road, Greer, SC 29651

GRACE ANGIE BAGWELL

SALEM — Grace Angie Bagwell, 48, passed away on Monday, Dec. 4, 2020, at her home.

A native of Oconee County, Grace was born Feb. 14, 1972, the daughter of Relton Arnold Talley and Alice Ann Willbanks.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Bagwell is survived by her two daughters, Tessa Bagwell McCurley (Austin) and Chelsi Bagwell; and siblings, Kristi Talley Mathis, Kara Talley and Lonnie Talley.

Grace was predeceased by a sister, Amanda Talley.
