REBECCA MARIE “BECKY” MOORE

EASLEY — Becky Moore, 66, passed from this life on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.

Born in Marion, Ohio, Rebecca is a daughter of the late Paul Edward and Betty Jane Long Moore. She was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church and formerly a member of Goshen Friends Church in Logan County, Ohio.

To know Becky was to know her love for her church and what an ace she was at Scrabble.

Survivors include three nieces, Joni Tevis (David) of Greenville, Diantha LaVine (David) of San Diego, Calif., and Susan Moore of Chile; a nephew, Paul Moore of Ashland, Ohio; a sister, Margie Tevis (Earl) of Easley; and a brother, Jeff Moore (Linda) of Ashland, Ohio.

A service to honor the life of Ms. Moore will be held at a later date in Ohio.

BOBBY JOE CHAPMAN

LIBERTY — Bobby Joe Chapman, 74, of Liberty, and widower of the late Myra Elizabeth Galloway Chapman, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born on Nov. 7, 1944, in Pickens County, he was the son of the late Fred and Grace Dodgens Chapman. Bobby attended Maranatha Baptist Church and enjoyed working in his yard.

Surviving are his son, Bobby Jerald Chapman (Lynn); one brother, William Chapman; and three sisters, Shirley Chapman, Mary Lou Dodgens and Eddie Olsen. Bobby also leaves behind six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly and enjoyed spending his time with.

Bobby was also predeceased by one daughter, Suzanne Gonzales; one son, Billy Joe Chapman; and seven siblings.

Funeral services were held on Jan. 28 in the Dillard Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Roger Todd officiating.

Burial was held at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

RODNEY ALLEN CAIN

PICKENS — Rodney A. Cain, 57, husband of Tammy Snipes Cain, passed from this life on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, at his home.

Rodney was born in Key West, Fla., a son of Rev. Arthur Leroy Cain and Margaret Elizabeth Gates Cain. He had just celebrated 25 years of employment with Wal-Mart of Easley.

Survivors include his parents of Gastonia, N.C.; his wife, Tammy, of 30 years, of the home; a sister, Rhonda Stone and her husband, Michael; a brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Esther Corn; a brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Rita Laye; and a brother-in-law, Floyd Snipes; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Rodney was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Bernice Snipes, and a brother-in-law, Avery Corn.

The funeral service was held on Jan. 27 in the chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Johnny Corn. Burial followed at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church cemetery.

FRANK M. HAMILTON

EASLEY — Frank Moseley Hamilton, 93, went home to be with our Lord on Jan. 26, 2019.

Frank was a God-fearing Christian man who accepted Christ as his Savior at age 9. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Easley, for 84 years, where he served as a Godly example to all those who came in contact with him. A true testimony to his faith is his love for his wife and his family. He will be dearly missed by all.

Surviving are his loving wife of 69 years, Shirley Powell Hamilton; his children, Moseley (Pree), Charles (Sharon), Norman (Deb), Timothy (Gay) and Alice (Terry); seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Mary Moseley Hamilton, three sisters and six brothers.

Funeral services were held on Jan. 28 at First Baptist Church, Easley, with burial following at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the building fund of First Baptist Church, Easley, 300 E. 1st Ave., Easley, SC 29640.

JEAN B. PARADIS

EASLEY — Jean B. Paradis, 84, of Liberty, husband of the late Betty Louise Thomas Paradis, passed away on Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, in McCormick.

Born in Buffalo, N.Y., he was a son of the late Jean Baptiste Orville “Levi” Paradis and Margaret Woodward Paradis.

Mr. Paradis was retired from Davis Electrical in Greenville and was a member of Liberty First Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Liberty Masonic Lodge #235 A.F.M.

Surviving are his daughters, Janice Holcombe (Joe) and Cheryl Owens (Phil), all of Liberty; grandchildren, Melisha Golden, Charlie Holcombe, Karla Milam (John), Tiffany Roach (Brian) and Levi Owens; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Claudette Fletcher of Cave City, Ark.; and a brother, Wilfred “Bill” Paradis of Tyler, Texas.

A memorial graveside service will be held at a later date at Liberty Memorial Gardens.

PATRICIA A. “TRISH” SIPE

EASLEY — Patricia Ann “Trish” Sipe, 49, of Easley, passed away on Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Cleveland, N.C., she was a daughter of the late David Eugene Sipe and Elizabeth Bell Sipe.

Trish was a free spirit, who loved life and her family. She enjoyed spending time with her dog, Callie, and riding motorcycles. She was formerly employed with Pete’s in Easley and The Huddle.

Surviving are her children, Ashley Lawson (Toby) of Easley and Eric Burgess of Blacksburg; a grandson, Austin Burgess; sisters, Kathy Humphries of Shelby, N.C., and Rebecca Revis of Clover; and a brother, Jefferey Sipe of Clover.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Ricky and Doug Sipe.

No formal services will be held.

RAY DONALD PORTER

PICKENS — Ray Donald Porter, 80, husband of Katherine L. Porter, passed from this life on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, surrounded by his family at St. Francis Hospital.

Don was born in Pickens County, the son of the late Ray W. Porter and Eunice Revis Porter. He was retired with 47 years of service from TTI. He started his career with Singer and continued working in different responsibilities. He attended Clemson University and was a loyal Tiger fan.

He was an active member of Secona Baptist Church. He formerly served as a deacon and was on numerous committees. He was committed to his service for the Lord and what was best for Secona Baptist Church. He also served his country in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Katherine; two daughters, Susan P. Sill (David) and Debbie P. King (Ron); three precious grandchildren, Emily Katherine Moore, Ronald Eric King (Megan) and Andrew Donald King; and special friend, Hannah Owens. He was the foundation of his family and determined to do the best for each of them.

Funeral services were held on Jan. 28 at the Secona Baptist Church sanctuary. Burial was held in the church cemetery.

REVEREND JOHN SISK

EASLEY — The Reverend John Henry Sisk, 79, of Easley, retired from his earthly duties and went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born on Aug. 10, 1939, in Toccoa, Ga., he was the son of the late Enary and Viola Funk Sisk. Best known for his love, generosity and prayer life, Rev. John dedicated his entire life to serving his community through the Lord.

Called to the ministry in 1963, Rev. John attended Holmes Theological Seminary and became ordained on May 18, 1967, with the Assemblies of God. He built and pastored Open Bible Assembly of God of Taylors and First Assembly of God in Easley. He served as chaplain for the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office and the Greenville Mental Health Department’s suicide prevention call line. Rev. John was a member of the S.C. District Assembly of God Missions Committee for 15 years and S.C. District Presbytery Board for 10 years. He was also active as a youth representative of the Upstate for 10 years. Rev. John was a huge supporter of missions, both domestic and foreign. Post-retirement, he attended First Assembly of God in Greenville for 17 years. In his final year, he faithfully attended Easley Church of God. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Anne Wilson Sisk; five children, Steven D. Sisk (Tammy) of Liberty, Rev. Simeon John Sisk (Joy) of the Netherlands, Rev. Sandra D. Phillips of Ohio, Susan Annette Vlahos (Rev. Nick) of Easley and Scott D. Sisk of Easley; one brother, Charles Edward Sisk (Mary) of Columbia; two sisters, Ollie Baxter of Oklahoma City and Elizabeth Tompkins of Easley; one sister-in-law, Jo Sisk of Easley; 10 grandchildren, Amber (Ken), Brian (Hailey), Stephanie, Sarah, Remington, Ethan, Max, Esther (Charlie), Jonathan (Sabrina) and Becca (Matt); and three great-grandchildren, Peyton, Case and Averie.

The Rev. John was also predeceased by one brother, Enary Sisk Jr., and two sisters, Geneva Phillips and Louise Knecht.

A celebration of Rev. John’s life will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019, at 1 p.m. at Easley Church of God, with the Rev. Steve Knight, Rev. Ken Owen and Rev. S. John Sisk officiating. A committal service will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

CARMEN DOUGLAS WALLACE

EASLEY — Carmen Douglas Wallace, 62, of Arial Street, wife of the late Gilmore Wallace Jr., passed away on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in New Haven, Conn., she was a daughter of the late Jeremiah “Jerry” Douglas and Allie Thomas Douglas.

Carmen was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Easley. She loved her family dearly, enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, and also liked entertaining and cooking for friends and family.

Surviving are her children, Markeith Douglas (Linda) of Lyman, Chris Douglas (Robin) of Pendleton, Chavon Douglas (Joey) and Kimberly Douglas (Jeloni), both of Easley; grandchildren, Dakarai Douglas, Destanee Douglas, Kierra Pierre (Steph), Dyamond Douglas, Kylah Mace, Lyric Douglas, Chaylece Douglas, Chaynelle Douglas, Ileana Douglas, Javaughn Payne and Jasariya Douglas; sisters, Rosalyn Garrison of Central, Valerie Johnson of Liberty and Doreen Douglas of Asheville, N.C.; and brothers, Richard Douglas of Florence and Brian Douglas of New Haven, Conn.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Jeremiah “Jerry” Douglas Jr. and Derick Douglas.

A memorial service was held on Jan. 26 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, with a visitation immediately following at the funeral home.
