RAMETH OWENS PARLER
CLEMSON — Rameth Owens Parler, 60 of Clemson, passed away peacefully in her
home on Nov. 7, 2025, with her husband by her side. She had been bravely facing a variety of health challenges for many years, most recently cancer.
Rameth was born Aug. 16, 1965, in Greenville, to Walton Owens Jr. and Rameth Owens, both professors at Clemson University. A graduate of D.W. Daniel High School in Central, she also received degrees from Clemson University in mathematics and in electrical engineering.
She worked as a global IT administrator for several multinational businesses.
She loved cooking and traveling, playing board and card games and solving puzzles. She loved oceans and lakes. She adored all dogs, and she raised Corgis, German Shepherds and Saint Bernards.
Rameth is survived by her husband, Sam Parler Jr.; mother, Rameth Owens; sister, Charlotte Owens Ladd; and her sister’s children, Owen Ladd and Ruby Ladd.
Rameth was preceded in death by her father, Walton Owens Jr.

CONNIE ANN BRANHAM COX
EASLEY — Connie Ann Branham Cox, 75, of Easley, passed away on Oct. 30, 2025, at Greenville Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born in Rock Hill on May 10, 1950, to the late Morris and Edith Branham.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Cox (Becky Robinson) of Altoona, Pa.; her sister, Marsha Bowers (Phillip) of Six Mile; and her niece, Payton Bowers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Dee Everett.
The family would like to thank Connie’s “sister-cousins,” Janice Baldwin, Barbara Jean Allen and Brenda Martin, for their care and support.
A graveside service was held on Nov. 10 at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

MICHAEL EUGENE ‘BIG MIKE’ WATSON
CENTRAL — Michael Eugene “Big Mike” Watson, 73, of Central, husband to the late Helena Jean Moore Watson, passed away Nov. 14, 2025.
Born in Central, he was the son of the late Major Gene Watson and Claret Mulkey Mize. Big Mike worked at Central Textiles and was a fireman for Central Fire Department. He enjoyed being outside in the sun cutting and tending to his yard.
He is survived by his son, Michael Eugene “Little Mike” Watson II and wife Jamie of Central; grandchildren, Helena Ann Hooper, Clayton Reece Black, Margie Baker, Jesse Barnes and Lucille Scruggs; brothers, Roger Watson, Pat Stephens and Terry Cantrell; sister, Debra Cantrell; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Watson was predeceased by his wife; parents; daughter, Helena Jeanette Watson; brother, Dale Cantrell; and sister, Angie Mize.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Nov. 22 at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 23 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

SIX MILE — Joni Marie Weber, 43, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025.
Funeral services were held on Nov. 16 in the chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home in Pickens.

STACEY STEWART GRIFFIN
LIBERTY — Mrs. Stacey Stewart Griffin, 54, wife of Benjamin “Benji” Columbus Griffin, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025.
Born in Pickens County, the daughter of John Allen “Rip” Stewart of Easley and the late Wanda Holliday Stewart, Mrs. Griffin was a graduate of Easley High School and Greenville Technical College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She was a retired LPN and of the Baptist faith.
Stacey was adventurous and loved exploring new places, whether through traveling, cruising or simply trying something new. She also enjoyed crafting and shopping, but her greatest joy was for her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Her contagious smile and laughter will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew her.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 19 years and father, are her brother, Chadwick Chad Allen Stewart (April) of Easley; her grandmother, Frances Owen Holliday Revis of Easley; her sister-in-law, Barbara Pilgrim (Tony) of Liberty; her brother-in-law, Barry Griffin (Jennifer) of Pickens; her uncle, Scott Holliday (April) of Easley; and her nieces and nephews, Chadwick C.J. Allen Stewart Jr., Sara Carolyne Stewart, Payton and Kole Griffin.
In addition to her mother, Stacey was predeceased by her grandparents, Charles Hayward Holliday and Jack and Lillian Stewart.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Nov. 20 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, Easley.
The family will receive friends from noon-1:45 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, prior to the service.

MARTHA BATSON GILLESPIE
PICKENS — Martha Batson Gillespie, 73, loving wife of 52 years to Tony Gillespie, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, at her home.
Born on June 6, 1952, in Greenville, Martha was the cherished daughter of the late Lamar Batson and Lois Pace Batson. Martha was gifted with a creative and loving spirit, which she expressed through her work as a baker and cake decorator. She poured love into every cake she made, treating each one as something special. Above all, Martha treasured her family. She adored her grandchildren and found her greatest joy in being their grandmother, surrounding them with affection, laughter and sweet memories.
Survivors include her daughters, Melissa Curtis (Ronnie) and Rebecca Gillespie, both of Pickens; grandchildren, Joesy, Sara, Isaiah, Jimmy, Kassi and Chad; great-granddaughter, Stevie; her in-laws; many loving and caring nieces and nephews; and Donnie and Carolyn Gravley and their entire family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gillespie was predeceased by her sister, Janice Batson.
The family held a funeral service on Nov. 13 in the sanctuary of Landmark Baptist Church in Easley. The burial was private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Martha’s honor may be made to Café Connections, 606 E. Cedar Rock St., Pickens.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to MSA Hospice for the compassion and support shown during Martha’s time of need. A special thank you is also given to Paige, Dee, Joy and Mary for the loving care, comfort and kindness they provided. Your devotion will never be forgotten.

COLESON GENE PORTER
EASLEY — With hearts filled with love and profound sorrow, we share that precious Coleson Gene Porter, only six months old, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025, at his home in Easley.
Born on May 4, 2025, in Greenville, Coleson was the beloved son of James Hayes Porter and Emilia Monroe. Though his time on earth was brief, he filled every day with joy, sweetness and a love that will remain forever in the hearts of his family.
In addition to his parents, Coleson is cherished and deeply mourned by his paternal grandparents, Adam and Jessica Porter (“Mimi and Pop”); maternal grandparents, Kris and Kylee Monroe (“Gigi and Grandpa”); great-grandparents, Elaine Porter, Pam Medlin, Robert and Kim Gordon and Bob and Brenda Monroe; aunts and uncles, Emma Porter, Sarah Nix (Caleb), Kacyn Monroe (Skylar), Jaylin Monroe (Angelo), Lathan Monroe and Dom Monroe; great-aunt and great-uncle, Kathy and Spencer Harrienger; and cousin, Kaisley Mae Monroe.
Coleson was welcomed into heaven by his great-grandfather, Gene Clarence Porter; great-great-grandparents, Frank and Marge Augustine and Earle and Mable Monroe; and great-uncle, Nathan Monroe.
The family will hold a celebration of life at 2 p.m. Nov. 19 at 129 Woodport Drive in Pickens. All are welcome to attend and join in a balloon/lantern release later that day.

CALVIN ERVIN WAGES
PICKENS — Calvin Ervin Wages, 72, loving husband to Linda Wages, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Born on June 28, 1953, in Irmo, Calvin was the cherished son of the late Thelma Lee Wages. A dedicated and hardworking man, he built a long and successful career with HSI Electrical in Summerville before retiring. Calvin found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time outdoors. He loved casting a line on the water and relaxing on the golf course, where he enjoyed many peaceful hours doing what he loved.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Wages of the home; daughter, Susan Thomas of Pickens; son, Eric Singletary of Pickens; grandchildren, Jessica Addis and Brad Thomas; and great-grandchildren, Zoey Ramey, Willie Gaines, Bella Thomas and Casen Addis.
Mr. Wages was predeceased by his mother, Thelma Lee Wages of Irmo.

RONALD M. ‘RUNT’ STANCIL
LIBERTY — It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Melvin “Runt” Stancil, born on May 6, 1956, in Anderson. He left this world peacefully on Nov. 16, 2025, at the age of 69. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends, who remember him as a warm-hearted soul with a passion for life.
Ronald was a man who found joy in the simple things. He loved to hunt and fish, often spending his days surrounded by the great outdoors that he cherished so much. He was skilled in his work as a brick mason for many years, shaping not just bricks, but building lasting memories with those around him.
He is survived by his loving sisters, Gretta Hawkins (Anthony) and Grace Hedden, and his brother, David Cook, who will carry his spirit in their hearts forever. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Martha Smith Stancil.
His wish was to be cremated. No formal services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages all to share a kind word or a favorite memory of Ronald, as he would have loved nothing more than knowing his spirit continues to live on through the lives he touched.
Rest in peace, Ronald. You will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

BRENDA MULL
LIBERTY — It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Brenda Fowler Mull after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Franklin Fowler and Margie Bryant Fowler.
She is survived by her husband, George Ronald Mull; a daughter, Melissa Mull (Shannon) of Piedmont, and three grandchildren; a son, Joshua Mull; sisters, Jene Peiffer (Bob) of North Myrtle Beach, Cheryl Byers of Jacksonville Fla. and Karen Fowler of Liberty, as well as nieces and a nephew.
Brenda was retired from St. Jude Medical and a lifelong resident of Liberty. Brenda was a collector of antiques. She loved finding old treasures and making them new. She also loved working in her greenhouse, growing beautiful flowers to plant in her yard every season. Decorating her home for the holidays was one of her greatest joys, especially for Christmas, which she would spend weeks making sure everything was just perfect.
A special “Thank You” to the staff of Reedy River Post Acute and Patriot Hospice and Palliative Care for their service and compassionate care during this difficult time.
A private graveside service will be held at Westview Cemetery, Liberty.

SHEILA RAINES HALLUM
PICKENS — Sheila Raines Hallum, 77, of Pickens, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025. Sheila was a lifelong resident of Pickens County and a devoted member of Red Hill Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as the organist.
Sheila and her husband lovingly served as house parents at Connie Maxwell Children’s Ministries in Greenwood for seven years. She was a dedicated homemaker and also worked at Pickens Sentinel and Super 10.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Dickie” Hallum; her parents, James and Myrtle Raines; her brothers, Edwin (Geraline) Raines and Harold (Betty Sue) Raines; and a niece, Deborah Raines.
Sheila is survived by her daughter, Nancy Ann Hallum of Brevard; nephews, Brian Raines of Easley and Reggie (Jenn) Raines of Marietta, Ohio; and a special cousin who was like a sister, Lana Rhymer of Rosman.
Visitation will be held on Nov. 23, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the sanctuary of Red Hill Baptist Church, 558 Red Hill Rd, Pickens with a funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. Burial will take place following the service at Red Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
