PATRICIA ANN ‘PATTI’ COLE

PICKENS — Patricia Ann “Patti” Cole, 64, loving wife of 42 years to Charles Michael “Mike” Cole, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Greenville Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on Aug. 3, 1961, Patti was the beloved daughter of the late Richard B. Pauls and Betty Bruce Pauls. She was a devoted and loving wife, a proud and nurturing mother, and a deeply cherished grandmother, affectionately known as “Nana”, as well as a treasured great-grandmother. Patti found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially time spent at the beach, soaking in the warmth of the sunshine, or relaxing in the comfort of her home surrounded by those she loved. She had a gift for conversation and connection, never meeting a stranger, and her warm, talkative nature earned her the endearing nickname “Chatty Patti.”

Survivors include her husband, Mike Cole of Pickens; children, Cher Cole (Joey) of Pickens, Shon Cole (Monika) of Boiling Springs and Amber Cole (Zach) of Pickens; grandchildren, Megan (Chris), Tristen (Emilio), Savannah, Keeli, Hunter, Aubri and Parker; and great-grandchildren, Emilia and Mason.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cole was predeceased by her brothers, Roger Pauls and Tommy Pauls; and sister, Nancy Pauls.

The family will hold a memorial service to honor Patti’s life at a later date.

ROBERT FRANK ‘BOBBY’ MCKINNEY

PICKENS — Robert Frank “Bobby” McKinney, 82, loving husband of 61 years to Mildred Owen McKinney, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Baptist Easley Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on Oct. 10, 1943, in Pickens, Bobby was the beloved son of the late Paul Eugene McKinney and Ollie Mae Day McKinney. A man of deep faith, he was a devoted member of Landmark Baptist Church in Easley. Over the years he faithfully served as a deacon, song director, and Sunday school teacher at Cannon Mountain Baptist Church, touching many lives through his ministry and love for the Lord.

Bobby was a proud graduate of Pickens High School and went on to build a remarkable career as a skilled tool and die maker at Singer/Ryobi. His talent and dedication eventually led him to establish his own business, McKinney Tool and Die. Throughout his career, he earned numerous awards and recognition for his exceptional craftsmanship and commitment to excellence.

Above all, Bobby was a devoted family man who loved his family deeply. He took great pride in providing for them and cherished the time spent together. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed the fellowship of friends and the simple pleasure of sharing a good meal. His life was a testament to hard work, faith, and love, leaving behind a legacy that will be treasured by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Owen McKinney of the home; children, Sherry Cantrell (Tim) of Pickens, Linda Sentell (Scott) of Pickens and David McKinney (Kerri) of Easley; grandchildren, Amber Crocker, Stepanie Owen, Austin Cantrell, Christopher Sentell, Landan McKinney and Sadie McKinney; great-grandchildren, River Crocker, Abbott Owen, Clyde Owen, Aspen Sentell and one on the way; brother, William Curtis “Curt” McKinney; and sister, Barbara Ann Duncan; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. McKinney was predeceased by his brothers, Glen Eugene McKinney, Harold Edward McKinney and Kenneth Ray McKinney; and sister, Evelyn Louise Duncan.

Funeral service were held on March 30, in the sanctuary of Landmark Baptist Church in Easley. Burial took place following the service at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens.

In lieu flowers, memorial donations in Bobby’s honor may be made to Landmark Baptist Church Building Fund, 116 Landmark Ct, Easley, SC 29640.

MARK EDWARD MILES

PICKENS — Mark Edward Miles, 53, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at AnMed Medical Center in Anderson, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on July 12, 1972, in Pickens County, Mark was the beloved son of the late Charles Edward Miles, Shirley Miles and Florriene Lee Miles. A devoted family man, Mark treasured the time he spent with those he loved most. He found great joy in the outdoors and had a natural talent for building and creating with his hands. Known as the life of the party, Mark’s vibrant personality and love for dancing brought laughter and energy wherever he went.

He enjoyed playing softball, following NASCAR, and firing up the grill for family and friends. Mark also had a special love for animals and a heart as big as his smile. Generous and kind, he was always willing to lend a helping hand and would do anything for anyone in need.

Survivors include his children, Renee Miles of Easley, Mary Cooper of Easley and Shawn Miles (Mary) of Colo.; grandchildren, Justin, Chase, Carly, Emalynne and Westley; siblings, Marelene Neal (Mickey), Brenda McIntyre, Linda Howell (Jody), Julie Wishon (Steve), Victoria Isom (Chuck) and Debbie Maggard (Todd); numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and mentor, Ted Shehan.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Miles was predeceased by his stepmother, Shirley Miles; and nephews, Jayden Neal and Steven Wishon.

The family will hold a memorial service to honor Mark’s life on, April 2, in the sanctuary of Amazing Grace Fellowship, 229 Pearl St, Pickens.

JULIA COUCH MEHR

ATLANTA — Julia Couch Mehr, 76, loving wife to Gary Mehr, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

Born on Aug. 1, 1949, Julia was the beloved daughter of the late Frank and Frances Couch.

In addition to her husband, Julia is survived by a niece, Augusta, and a nephew, Christian.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mehr was predeceased by her brother, Frankie F. Couch, Jr.

A family graveside service were held on March 29, at Pendleton Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
