Easley — Mrs. Sarah Darlene Norris Clark, 62, wife of the late David Wayne Clark Sr., passed away Monday, May 18, 2015, at her home.

Mrs. Clark was born in Laurens County, a daughter of the late John Henry and Sarah Elizabeth Pearson Norris. Mrs. Clark graduated from the University of South Carolina and was a registered CNA. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Easley.

Surviving are a son, Brian Keith Clark of Uniontown, Pa.; a daughter, Sarah Yvonne Clark Williams of Easley; two brothers, Ronnie E. Norris of Greenville and Ricky E. Norris of Gray Court; and two grandchildren, John Craig Williams IV and Sarah Elizabeth Williams. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Clark was predeceased by a son, David Wayne Clark Jr.; and two sisters.

Funeral services were May 21 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with the Rev. Gregory Lee Longtin officiating. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Thornwell Children’s Home, 302 Broad Street, Clinton, S.C. 29625.

Glenn C. Robinson

Pickens — Glenn C. Robinson, 88, of Woodlane Drive, passed away Monday, May 18, 2015.

Born in Pickens County, he was the son of the late Willie and Inar Holder Robinson.

Mr. Robinson was retired from Ryobi in Pickens and also owned and operated Robinson Shoe Repair for several years. He was a member of Jones Avenue Baptist Church and was a U.S. Navy Veteran.

Surviving is his wife of 38 years, Nancy Dalton Robinson of the home.

Mr. Robinson was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.

A funeral service was held May 21 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Ressie S. Keith

Easley — Ressie S. Keith, 106, widow of Floyd Keith, passed from this life Tuesday, May 19, 2015.

Mrs. Keith was born in Pickens, daughter of the late Walker and Susie Adams Turner. She was retired from Easley Baptist Hospital as an L.P.N. She was a member of Park Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include sons, Cecil Keith (Lou) of Salisbury, N.C., Larry Keith (Myong) of Mauldin, Curtis S. Keith of Iva and Kenneth D. Keith (Sharon) of Fountain Inn, and daughters, Julia Whitaker of Monument, Colo., Sarah Moore of Liberty, Virginia Ann Suddeth (Kenneth) of Easley and Linda Sue Shockley (Chuck) of Easley. Also surviving is a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held May 21 at Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens. Burial followed at Sunrise Cemetery in Pickens.

Mary F. DeLooze

Easley — Mary Florence DeLooze nee’ Stetzel, 85, of Easley and formerly of Lyons, N.Y., passed away peacefully on May 21, 2015, after a brief illness.

Mary was born in Geneva, N.Y., on Oct. 31, 1929 to the late Florence and Howard Stetzel of Geneva. She graduated in 1947 from the Phelps School. She loved to travel, garden and visit her family across the United States.

Mary was predeceased in 1997 by her husband of 49 years, Edmund E. DeLooze; her sisters, Dorothy Gaylord (Donald) and Jean Lee (Mike), and is survived by her brother, James Stetzel of Phelps, N.Y. She leaves to cherish her memory her eight loving children: Dawn Blair (Gerald) of Geneva, Howard DeLooze (Christine) of Henrietta, Holley Pridmore (Charles) of Hot Springs, Ariz., Laurie Gordon (Timothy) of Easley, Edmund DeLooze (RoseMarie) of Bear, Del., Sandra Baker (Billy) of Cottonwood, Ariz., Timothy DeLooze of Walterboro and Jennifer Pagano (Scott) of Honolulu, Hawaii; 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mary is survived by her companion of 10 years, Domingo Leon of Lyons, N.Y.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. As Mary loved animals, the family requests that in lieu of flowers you make a donation in Mary’s name to your local no-kill humane shelter.

Dollie Mae Crumpton

Simpsonville — Dollie Mae Collins Wright Crumpton, 87, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 18, 2015.

Mrs. Crumpton was born in Oconee County, a daughter of the late Lee and Hattie Calhoun Collins. She was a retired textile worker and she was a member of New Life Baptist Church in Pelzer. Mrs. Crumpton loved her Lord, her family, her church family and her furry baby, Snoopy.

Survivors include a son, Daniel Wright (Janet) of Simpsonville, daughters, Bobbie Watson (James) of Seneca, Joyce Wright of Greenville, Margie Burton (Larry) of Westminster, and Lorraine Harrison of Gray Court, a sister, Mary Stephens of Greenville, 20 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews who she loved and adored very much.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Crumpton was preceded in death by three sons, Michael, Ansel, and Jack Wright, and Jack’s wife Sandy, three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services were held in the Dillard Funeral Home chapel on May 21. Burial followed at Red Hill Baptist Church cemetery.

Aileen R. James

Easley — Aileen “Teater” Raines James, 92, of Nalley Street, wife of the late William “Dub” Thomas James, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015, at her home.

Born in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Zion Hillard Raines and Leatha McJunkin Raines.

Mrs. James was retired from the textile industry, having worked for Alice and Glenwood plants. She attended Dacusville High School and was a member of Jones Avenue Baptist Church. She loved gardening, raking leaves and cooking for her family.

Surviving are her children, Shirley Gilbert (Ernest) and Jerry James (Sophie), all of Easley; grandchildren, Lee James (Amber), Leanne James, Leshay Campbell (Don), Luke James (Jessi), Destinee Gilbert and Dana Gilbert; and great-grandchildren, Abbey James, Jude James, Nicole James and Kaeden Mann.

Mrs. James was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Arthur Raines, and four sisters, Frances Crowe, Lou Ellen Gilstrap, Annie Whitman and Kathleen Raines.

Funeral services were held May 23 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Effie Lee Masters

Sunset — Effie Lee O’Sheal Masters, 94, widow of Clifford Henry Masters, passed from this life Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Manna Health & Rehab in Pickens.

Mrs. Masters was born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Noah and Mattie Phillips O’Sheal. She was retired from Sangamo Electric Company after 25 years service. Mrs. Masters was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, where she taught the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class for 30 years.

Survivors include her son, Jimmy Masters (Linda) of Sunset, and daughters, Blanche Markley of Myrtle Beach, Joyce Hunter of Pickens, Shirley Stone (Roy) of Easley, Elaine Henderson (Jackie) of Easley, and Susan Childress (Bob) of Charleston. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Masters was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda M. Few. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

A graveside service was held May 23 at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

Edna Mae Lollis

Pickens — Edna Mae Walker Lollis, 77, wife of the late Billy Franklin Lollis, passed from this life on Thursday, May 21, 2015, at her home.

Mrs. Lollis was born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Willie Lee and Rosa Lee Hannah Walker. She was retired from the Mohawk plant of J. P. Stevens in Clemson, and she was a Baptist.

Survivors include sons, George Preston Lollis of the home, and Robert Lewis Lollis (Tammy) of Liberty, daughters include Billie Frances “Frankie” Gonzalez (Simplicio) of Pickens, Regina Ann Powell of Pickens and Edna Lucille Trotter of Pickens, 11 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Robert Mack Walker (Beverly), Edward Eugene Walker and James Harold Walker, all of Easley.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Lollis was preceded in death by a brother, Willie Lee Walker Jr.

Funeral services were held May 25 in the funeral home chapel. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

Mary McJunkins

LIBERTY — Mary Eloise Crowe McJunkins, 69, of 142 Spivey Drive, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at the Hospice House in Anderson.

Born in Easley, she was the widow of Albert E. “PeeWee” McJunkins and a daughter of the late Fred H. and Mary Merck Crowe.

She retired from Easley Nursing Center and was a member of Ruhamah Baptist Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Mary Wegman of Knoxville, Tenn., Kathy Ann Taylor of Liberty and Marie McJunkins of Easley, a son, Albert “Buck” McJunkins of Columbia; three brothers, Fred Crowe Jr. of Central, Billy Crowe of San Bernardino, Calif., and John Crowe of Concord, Ga.; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held May 25 to honor Mrs. McJunkins’ life at Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial followed at Liberty Memorial Gardens.

Liberty Mortuary is assisting the McJunkins family.

Roy J. Smith

Pickens — Roy James Smith, 79, husband of the late Sara Boggs Smith, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at his home.

Roy was born in Pickens County, a son of the late Henry Grady and Lecy Ellenburg Smith. He was retired from Pickens Railroad as a supervisor and he was a farmer. Roy was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include his sons, Miles Smith (Deanna) of Liberty and Michael Smith (Becky) of Pickens; his significant other, Carolyn Willimon of Six Mile; grandchildren, Adam Owens, Michael Owens, Anna Owens, Hank Owens, Jonathan Owens and Kelsey McMinn; and great-grandchild, Hunter Woody. Sisters include Lois Rogers of Salem and Ruby Gravely Clardy of Pickens.

In addition to his parents and wife, Roy was preceded in death by his daughter, Janice Owens.

Funeral services were held May 22 at the Dillard Funeral Home chapel. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

Matthew C. Robinson

Central — Matthew Christopher Robinson, 16, an honor student at D.W. Daniel High School, died Tuesday, May 19, 2015.

Born in Greenville, he was the son of Mary Medlin Robinson Gibson and her husband, who raised Matthew, Steve Gibson of Central. His father, Glenn Robinson, currently lives in Greenville.

Matthew was a member of the Daniel High School Marching Band, Carolina Youth Symphony, Clemson University Symphony and Boy Scout Troop No. 172 of Liberty. He was a member of Alive Wesleyan Church, where he loved to volunteer to help park cars for the church services. He recently began working at McDonald’s in Clemson.

Surviving in addition to his parents are a sister, Katherine Rebecca Robinson of the home; and maternal grandparents, Diedrich and Aileen Medlin of Central; and uncle, David Robinson of Liberty.

A funeral service was held May 23 at Alive Wesleyan Church in Central. Burial followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Central.

Glenn S. Holcombe

Pickens —­ Glenn Sylvester Holcombe, 82, of Chrysler Street, peacefully went to Heaven on Sunday. May 24, 2015, at his home surrounded by his loving family as they were singing Amazing Grace.

Born in Oconee County, he was the son of the late Rev. George Holcombe and Ila Patterson Holcombe.

Glenn was retired from Ryobi in Pickens and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served during the Korean War.

He dearly loved his family, especially his wife, daughter and son-in-law, Mike Brooks, and always had a smile on his face.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Ann Chapman Holcombe; a daughter, Pam Holcombe Brooks (Mike) of Easley; two step-grandchildren, Matthew Brooks and Landan Brooks; and his 10 siblings, Helen Ellenburg, Hershel Holcombe (Sue), Evelyn Gilstrap (James), Betty Jo Whitlock (Milton), Roberta Pace (Waymon), Dwight Holcombe (Iva), Doug Holcombe, Jerry Holcombe (Margaret), Linda McCall (James) and Darlene Madden (Wayne).

In addition his his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Gregory Scott Holcombe, and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Ellenburg.

A service to celebrate Glenn’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 27, at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

CHICHI HARRIS HERR

CENTRAL — Chichi Ann Harris Herr, 68, of 205 Lacustrian Lane, Central, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015, with family by her side.

Chichi was born in Maryville, Tenn., on Nov. 15, 1946, to Ray and Sarah McClurg Harris. Chichi was a graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in secondary education, and she served as a math teacher at D.W. Daniel High School for more than 25 years.

Chichi had a passion for Daniel High School and was the longtime faculty advisor for the D.W. Daniel Foundation, a foundation that supports students and faculty. She made the biggest difference in the classroom. Her passion for math, especially algebra and calculus, was unparalleled. She changed many lives and was a true inspiration to generations of students.

Chichi loved working with students; however, the greatest role of her life was being a mother to her three daughters and grandmother to her six grandchildren. Gamma, as she was lovingly known by her grandchildren, spent many hours with her family playing games, working puzzles, cheering from the sidelines and, of course, teaching them math by breaking out the flash cards.

Chichi is survived by her mom; her three daughters, Sheri Wilson of Westminster, Md, Marianne Glaser of Braselton, Ga., and Michele Stancil of Central; and six grandchildren, Nathan Wilson (12), Amber Wilson (9), Kathryn Glaser (7), Harrison Glaser (5), Grant Stancil (5) and London Stancil (3).

The funeral for Chichi will be held on Wednesday, May 27 at 4 p.m. at Duckett Robinson Funeral Home in Central. A visitation will immediately follow the service. There will be a burial service on Friday, May 29, at 11 a.m. at Grandview Cemetery in Maryville, Tenn.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the D.W. Daniel foundation in memory of Chichi Herr, 140 Blue and Gold Blvd., Central, S.C. 29630.
