Cruise-In & Music starts Saturday

PICKENS — Summer in Pickens kicks off in June with four Saturday evenings of Cruise-In vehicles on display and Music on Main Street.
“This year we’ve lined up some great entertainment to go with food, fun and the great vehicles to see,” said George Case, event chairman.
The cruise-ins will be held on a closed section of Main Street between U.S. 178 and Catherine Street. Vehicles participating in a cruise-in should check-in from Garvin Street between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Public viewing of the entries will begin at 6:30 p.m. each Saturday, with entertainment starting at 7 p.m. Awards will be given to the judged best entrants. All four Saturday evenings are free to the general public.
Cruise-ins begin June 2 with a taste of the blues — custom cars and the Marvin King Band. June 9, bike night, features a Poker Run that ends on Main Street and is sponsored by Holcombe Cycles in Pickens. Ride for a cause that benefits Marys House and the PRA, stay for a good time with specialty racing and enjoy rock and roll music from The Sideman.
Saturday events continue on June 16 with classic cars on display and Ted Russell Kamp providing entertainment. June 23 concludes the month of fun with Jeep Night and country music from Katlin Owen.
Presented this year by the Pickens Revitalization Association (PRA), in addition to Holcombe Cycles, other event partners include Dowell Electric Services and the Historic City of Pickens.
