Duncan retiring as Six Mile fire chief

SIX MILE — After more than a quarter of a century at the helm, Ronnie Duncan will officially end his duties as Six Mile Fire Chief on May 1.
Duncan has dedicatedly served as a member of the Six Mile Fire Department for 35 years, 26 of which have been spent as chief.
Duncan will be honored at the town’s May 1 council meeting and then again two days later, when an open house will be held in his honor in the town’s community center. Food and refreshments will be served, and the public is cordially invited to attend and extend their appreciation for Duncan’s many years of service.
Michael Barrett has been selected to take over the duties and responsibilities of Fire Chief for the Six Mile Rural Fire District, which will assume fire protection responsibility for the residents of Six Mile on July 1.
