PICKENS — An Easley man already listed on the sex offender registry is in jail after he was charged this week with having sex with a young girl multiple times.
According to Pickens County Sheriff’s Office chief deputy Creed Hashe, 62-year-old Robert Taitingfong Arnold was arrested Monday afternoon on a charge of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
Arnold, of 324 Apple Hill Road, was convicted of child molestation in Arizona in 1986, according to the sex offender registry.
Hashe said the sheriff’s office received information on May 24 about multiple sexual incidents involving a child under the age of 11.
An investigation revealed the incidents occurred several times in 2008 at Arnold’s home, Hashe said.
The victim does not live with Arnold, Hashe said, and measures are being taken to ensure there is no contact between the two.
Arnold was being held without bond Tuesday at the Pickens County Detention Center.
